When it comes to ADHD and other types of brain/behaviorial symptoms

and diagnoses, it pays to go very slowly.

I've found there are a lot of people who are double-diagnoses with

ADHD and bi-polar disease. This shows you how tricky this all can be.

I've known people with bi-polar disease, as well as schizophrenia.

Very often there seems to be a quirk of brilliancy to people's brains

who are slighly off sync with the rest of us. A good example of this

is John Nash, on who the movie " A Beautiful Mind " is based. He found

that the medication greatly interferred with his god-given talent of

coming up with mathematical equations, so he stopped them. He was

very fortunate in that he had a wife who understood him, was

completely supportive, and stood by him. Somehow, and it is very

rare, he was able to control those " others " that are constantly with

him. I'm sure his wife maintains as much as a low-stress environment

for him as possible.

It is very important to completely understand the individual's

situation and environment. What stresses them, are there foods

involved. The sensory environment (as someone noted in an earlier

post). This is really not something that you just give a pill to, a

potion, or change a diet and all is well. It's an ongoing, evolving

thing because the body/human changes as we grow older and the ebb and

flow of hormones comes and goes.

Self-education is the key to understanding and deciding on the path.

Once you get educated, then you can really trust your gut on whether

a particular course is working well.

Yep, and go the natural route. Just don't rule out..completely... the role

medication might play. I speak from experience.
