I went on natural progesterone after reading Doctor Lee's book...in one year of natural progesterone my fibroid doubled in size and I was suffering from suicidal depression. I never had experience this before or after progesterone. For anyone taking it, please get your hormones checked. Progesterone stores itself in body fat. Also, some research attribute fibroid growth to increased progesterone for those fibroids with progesterone receptors. Not picky on which one either. Was estrogen dominant, went into surgical menopause, Dr. was HRT nutso. Told me that I would die within 10 years if I did not take HRT. Almost never found a hormone pill that I could even take due to side affects. Took it for about I dunno maybe 4-6 years. Then I began reading that all you really needed was a few short years of HRT, if at all. Very dangerous to take it more than 10 years. Began weaning myself off of it for another year and a half. It is a long process if you are careful. Began lowering the dosage, then every other day with Phytoestrogens OTC type on off days. Then half tablet of the HRT every other day, then used the progesterone cream on off days. Finally, am only on the progesterone cream and what a difference it makes. Some folks sell and really believe in a standarized Wild Yam extract. Personally, I can't tell the difference. Wild Yam can only be absorbed into the body via a cream on soft fatty areas such as the inside of the thigh, inside the arms, neck, breast & tummy area. There goes the wild yam extract that I made. There are a lot of really nasty creams out there that will actually make you feel worst. Unfortunately, not everything that says " natural " on the label is. And, not everything on the shelf at your local health food store is healthy. During perimenopause and menopause we become SUPER sensitive to ingredients. Choose only high quality, chemical free, USP progesterone cream. Read the ingredients carefully, especially the " other ingredients " in fine print.
