Guest guest
My daughter, now 3 1/2, has always had a brownish tint to her 2 front teeth and it's getting worse! I'm just torn up inside over this, and she does not eat/drink sugary stuff, she brushes twice a day and we don't use flouride toothpaste. Some friends suggested that it was the flouride in our water. What are your thoughts on this and what can be done to treat her? Thanks from a very frustrated mom, Connie We won't tell. Guest guest
My daughter had this very thing. I was heart broken. Her baby teeth were not discolored and then her big teeth were. She was made fun of at school ect... The dentist told me she was to young to have veneers but we kept searching until we found a dentist that would do the vaneers. They are costly but well worth the money. Your daughter may be to young for vaneers but she could have some bonding done. My heart goes out to you. Guest guest
I've heard of kids with white spots on their teeth from over flouridation but the brown you speak of, well maybe the following link is helpful: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/baby-teeth/AN01056 -Michele , Connie Young <connieyounglmt wrote: > > My daughter, now 3 1/2, has always had a brownish tint to her 2 front teeth and it's getting worse! Guest guest
Have you given her any painkillers? Tylenol maybe? A friend of mine had his teeth turn brown at an early age as a result of some type of painkiller. I don't remember which one as it was in the 60's. Good Luck! <connieyounglmt wrote: > > My daughter, now 3 1/2, has always had a brownish tint to her 2 front teeth and it's getting worse! Guest guest
Years ago about the 60's and early 70's, it was found that an antibiotic was causing permanent teeth to come in yellow or discolored. I believe it was tetracycline, Also I did notice when I moved to the panhandle of Texas that many people there had brownish spots on their teeth, they said it was from their water. I don't know the remedy but your best bet is cosmetic dentistry. Peace, Thyme ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
