Guest guest
Hello , I just had a good friend call me for help, seems she has been suffering from psorisis on the scalp for a while now. She had never had this before, but for the past 3 months or so she has had what the plethra of Doctors she has seen are calling psorisis. They have thrown script after script at her to no avail. She has tried cremes, liquids, all the shampoos and scalp treatments and still it has not cleared up. Now she has found a patch of what she thinks is the same stuff on her elbow and is freaking out. She has cut her hair super short to treat it and is not sure what to do next. The only thing I know of that she has not tried is ultraviolet light therapy, since I know a few people with this condition that use it to help manage their outbreaks...( thoughts on this?) So, I thought I would throw it out to you wonderful peeps, and see what kind of suggestions you may have. She is perfectly willing to try any kind of alternative approach. Thanks in Advance for all your imput! Michele
Guest guest
From what I understand of the phototherapy it could help but you need to be very careful because too much UV exposure can exacerbate symptoms. Guest guest
I have had psoriasis since I was 15 (I am now 51) I find that if I rotate these two shampoo's then I have control of it, I use one for 3 to 4 days then change to the other for 3 to 4 days http://www.auravita.com/products/AURA/STAM10001.asp http://www.rowlandspharmacy.co.uk/products/product_information.cfm? id=228 & subject=Dandruff & callingid=12 I also take oils, cod liver, flaxseed oil and vitamin E, and C plus a multivitamin. this helps my skin overall, I only have the odd patch here and there and my scalp is clear, it used to be covered almost like a bathing cap. I hope this will help your friend. also here is a link that may help too. http://www.paalliance.org/what_is_psoriatic_arthritis.htm Regards Eddie , " Michele " <LadyMayaMoon wrote: > > Hello , > > I just had a good friend call me for help, seems she has been > suffering from psorisis on the scalp for a while now. Guest guest
Has she tried self heal cream? Prunella is the Latin name for the herb. It is made by FES and is a very healing skin cream. Also has she tried to expose her skin to the sun every day. Early mornings best. Peace, thyme ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone.
