Guest guest
HI I have this shin pain, mostly at night. There's no noticeable swelling, soreness to touch, etc. But it just hurt like in the bone, really aggravating. Any help appreciated. Calvin Sucker-punch spam with award-winning protection. Guest guest
It sounds like shin splints. Do you run or walk a lot? It's probably time for new shoes. Icing it in the evenings can help as well. There are some stretches you can do to help with the pain and to prevent them in the future, you will want to take it easy and not do much walking/running for a few weeks though. I was told in Basic Training that the most common cause of shin splints are old and worn out shoes or shoes that never fitted properly in the first place. Try getting new tennis shoes and going to a place where they will help you find the right fit for your foot shape, gait and posture. Here in Colorado a good shop is Boulder Running Co. Good luck! Guest guest
Red Wing shoe stores will also provide that service and well constructed shoes. Also try this: Shred a whole carrot. Place the shredded carrot over the painful area. Use saran or plastic wrap to secure it to the shin. Then cover with an ACE wrap. Sleep with this over night. It should remove tenderness, swelling and any discoloration you may have. Jenny Kenan --- Jessika Stone <remindersofthen wrote: > It sounds like shin splints. Do you run or walk a > lot? Guest guest
Please also check your vitamin D. I recenly found out I had osteomalacia due to lack of Vit D. I had horrible bone pain for years and no one figured it out. Melissa , Jessika Stone <remindersofthen wrote: > > It sounds like shin splints. Do you run or walk a lot? Guest guest
You should go to the doctor and get an xray of the shin before you try anything and if nothing is wrong get a massage for the muscles that are causing the pain. and vit d can be synthasized by sitting in the sun for 15 min qd which means daily.
