Guest guest
Re the inositol powder I mentioned in a post I just sent!! Want to add that the child may do well on under 6 grams or 10 grams, etc. So don't have to build up to what seems like a high dose (when it talks about 18 grams). My son did OK when treating his OCD on around 13-14 grams/day, though he got more on extra-stressed days. But *much* later we were able to back down to around 3 grams a day because he was doing so well and stayed on the 3 grams for a while. Just to comment not to go too high too soon. Also if she seems to increase the picking at first, give it a few days as it might just be a first reaction and then she'll calm down and do better. Say that just because sometimes what you are trying to treat worsens in the beginning but then gets better within the week. Even can happen with prescription meds. My son seemed to increase his OCD at first but then it settled and he did better & better the longer he was on the inositol. NOW to say this: his OCD is acting back up this past year and the inositol isn't helping this time as it did in the past. He took it for 3 grades before but it's no help this time around! Anyway, worth a try for your friend I think! Chris in NC
