Guest guest
I wonder if anyone has any tips on how to prevent or at least minimize stretch marks when my pregnant tummy starts to get big? I've bought Burts Bees cream for pregnant tummies, but read that creams wont really help. I've heard there might be exercises that help. Also, I've read that its a bad idea to do situps while you are pregnant, but the same book also said that I should do some ab strengthening exercises to help in labor. What other ab exercises do you suggest?

Guest guest
whilst pregnant i used my own recipe for oil rub to minimise stertch marks-i was very happy with the results-i passed it onto heaps of women when pregnant and all said it helped-----after shower whilst still wet even when in shower -sqirt a few teaspoons to a couple of table spons of oil on body and allow warm- hot water to run over it and rub oil in with hands-step out of shower and pat dry body (so not to rub off oil ) or you can rub oil in with massage when dry recipe light olive oil ----2 cups alfa kerri oil -----1 cup avocado oil------1 cup aloe vera oil or gel 1 cup apricot oil-----1 cup add a small bottle of sented oil--------1 teaspoon or more add a little coco nut oil if you wish but not too much-as it can dry the skin if you like to thin it out you can use a little baby oil but i am allways wary of using it as it has been reportrd to have aluminium in it -not good- see if you can read up on it-- this makes a nice oil which is good to use at any time but i have hardly any stretch marks ,and i was huge with my first bub------ i mean really huge you can add vit e oil as that helps too but avocados have vit e in them ( i am not sure of the oil tho)- Have a happy pregnacy-start using oil asap as the skin is allredy sretching. take fish oil as well( orally) no need to say eat well- lots of nuts, dry fruit for snacks-no junk food. this oil costs a bit to start with but when you buy the ingredients it should last thoughout preg and beyond- don't use lavender oil it as it is reported to bring up the female hormones-might cause some damage-( JUST BEING CAREFULL) goldencougarwolf <nlring80962 wrote: as I recall from pathology massage can be of a great benefit to you while you are pregnant and then after for scar tissue and strech marks. http://recipes.chef2chef.net/recipe-archive/29/157719.shtml this website has recipes to try for the strech marks also try olive oil and vit e mixed. like if you have 4oz of olive oil put in 4oz of vitamin E and rub it on your skin. remindersofthen <remindersofthen Saturday, March 17, 2007 9:25:14 AM How to prevent stretch marks I wonder if anyone has any tips on how to prevent or at least minimize stretch marks when my pregnant tummy starts to get big? Guest guest
Congratulations on your pregnancy - this is indeed a special time for you. Myrrh essential oil has been used since the beginning of recorded history for expectant mothers. You may remember that it was a gift from the 3 wise men brought to Jesus and his mother at his birth. True, therapeutic grade myrrh oil (a drop or 2) massaged daily over the abdomen will help the skin stretch without tearing as well has help you prepare emotionally for the exciting and life-altering changes ahead. It is also safe to rub on the perineum before delivering to help stretch without tearing and may minimize the requirement for an episiotomy. You can learn more about therapeutic-grade essential oils (you won't find them in retail stores) on my website if you are interested. As for exercises, the best are kiegal exercises which involve contracting, holding and relaxing your pelvic muscles. These are the muscles you use if you are urinating and try to stop the flow. You can do these exercises hundreds of times during the day, whenever you think of it, and it will help you immensly to maintain muscle control when you are ready to deliver, and after delivery when you are ready to resume intercourse. Many fitness centers also offer exercise classes specifically for pregnancy. The more physically and emotionally fit you are, the easier will be your delivery and recovery. Of course, all exercise should be done under your doctor's advisement. Best wishes to you for a healthy, happy pregnancy and birth experience.
