Guest guest
sponge itchy areas twice a day with organic apple cider vinegar and pat body dry - do not rinse off. This should stop the itching. Don't know why but it works. Judy

Guest guest
Try oatmeal baths, that always helped me when I got itchy rashes as a child. Also, if its a small area you can ice it. When I got sunburned my mom always used to soak a bunch of tea bags in a bowl and press them on my skin, letting the tea run out on my skin, that might help with itchiness too, but I always hated the sticky feeling afterwards. Since I had to wash it right off, it always seemed like a temporary solution to itchy, burning sun burns. Tonya <atwoodham5799 wrote: Any ideas/solutions. Guest guest
Jewelweed is my favorite remedy for itching. Burt's Bees makes a soap for poison ivy that contains jewelweed and is very good. The only place I've found salve or spray is Alternative Nature Online Herbal, www.altnature.com. I use the spray on my dry skin and my son uses the salve for acne. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Black walnut tincture is usually good for all sorts of rashes, especially any type of poison ivy/oak/sumac etc. I apply it externally several times a day. (it's a high pigmented tincture and stains quite a lot, but it will do the trick) The other thing you may want to look at , is that usually rashes are a sign of something internal. our skin is the largest organ our body has for elimination and cleansing. Try to get him eating a bit more of a healthy diet (if not already on one) with more fruits, vegetables and soaked, cooked whole grains. No white products, no flour or refined sugar. And LOTS of water, with lemon if possible will help with the detox. Usually rashes are your body's way of detoxing through the skin... Best of luck! but yes, oatmeal baths for the itch (you can blend up rolled oats in a blender to make the powder and add it to the bathwater), cooler water is better than hot!
