Just found out I'm pregnant

I'm scared and I can't sleep. What can I do to sleep? What is safe?

Beyond that, what should I look into for having a healthy baby? I've

never done this before. I'm really frightened right now.

-Warm milk is good for your baby and will put you to sleep.

 

Remeber not to use plastics to strore your water and milk, the plastics

are bad for the baby.

Use EFT (www.emofree.com) for fear and relaxation. It takes a bit of

time to learn but only a couple of minutes to do. Download the manual

and you will be sleeping the same or the next day with ease.

 

Healthy baby needs healthy foods. Eat organic only, make green

smoothies, use the best quality probiotic you can find. We use In-

Liven. To learn more about that, the formulator has his monthly call

tonight, so if you want to listen in I can email you the number. Just

write me and I'll send you the number. It's 6pm Pacific time.

 

It's best for the health of the baby to be born through the vagina

versus C-section. It is supposed to pick up bacteria from the birth

canal and this will serve the baby to get off to a healthy start and

so long as no antibiotics are taken, that baby will have a greatly

reduced chance of getting allergies.

 

Brown rice and beans are good for amino acids that will build protein

in your baby. Hemp is also good and you can put some in a smoothie.

Stay away from tuna which contains mercury. Cod liver oil from

Carlson's is cleaned of mercury and will give you healthy fat for good

brain developement.

 

Can you get yourself a doula? This would be a great help to teach you

and give you confidence.

 

If you choose to use vitamins, make sure they are good quality, from

whole food source and in liquid form. Most pills don't get absorbed

and are a real waste of money.

 

Don't get any dental work done if you have silver fillings.

 

Take some tissue salts to stay balanced. Off the top of my head I

would just recommend a combination of the basic 12. Hyland's is

called BioXII. They are very safe to use. You may want to get a book

and learn more about this.

 

I would also make sure to keep Flubusters in the house so if you feel

a flu coming on, take it immediately. You don't want to get sick

during pregnancy!!!! Avoid sick people. Avoid chemicals like hair dye,

perfumes, anything on the skin that isn't 100% natural, bubble baths,

junk food, airspray, chemical cleaners, nail polish, etc.

 

Pregnancy can be very enjoyable and exciting and a great time to

learn. I hope you have time to read. I recommend the La leche books

about breastfeeding, The Continuum Concept for raising children,

Raising More Intelligent Children by Sidney Ledson (yes, it works!)

and any books about whole foods, raw foods, etc. This is a wonderful

time to learn about health and how to look after your baby. Try and

find some La Leche meetings near you and meet other Moms. They are a

great support network and are in virtually every town and city in

North America.

 

Swimming is a wonderful excercise and will reduce swelling that

usually occurs in the later months. I swam almost everyday and I

worked up till 4 days before giving birth on my feet for 8 hours so

had a lot of swelling. I couldn't have done it without my swim but I

wanted to use my pregnancy leave for spending time with the baby. I

never did go back to work there though and was a full time Mom for

some years before working part time again.

 

Keep us posted and keep asking questions. There's a lot of poeple at

the group who give great advice. Now that's just off the top of my

head and some of it I really learned the hard way. Prevention is

always best!

This sounds like your first? So, first of all, try and relax. Find a good

midwife/Obstetrician. Prenatal care is one of the most important first things

you can do for yourself and your baby. They will provide you with the best

possible information that takes into account any unique things about you or your

pregnancy. When you visit the doc, they will give you some samples of prenatal

vitamins. Which is the next important thing you should do. There are also some

great ones you can buy over the counter but the ones your doctor prescribes can

be paid for by your insurance and the OTC vitamins usually don't have a full 1g

of folic acid (which helps prevent birth defects.) Your age plays into your

pregancy but if you are under 35, they probably won't say much. Your body will

blossom right in front of you, it's an amazing time. Start a journal if you

don't have one already. Pregnancy is different for every woman but I have been

told that usually a woman's pregnancy is

similar to their own mothers. So, talk with your mother (if that's an option)

and find out what her 1st pregancy was like - that should shed some insight on

what to expect. There are some awesome books out there. " What to expect when

you're expecting " is one of the more popular ones and has lots of info. There

are also some excellent websites. With out knowing you and knowing your

situation, I really can't offer much more information. I didn't want children

and wasn't in a situation were I should have a child until I was 36. I was

lucky in that I didn't suffer too much with nausea but ended up getting high

blood pressure at the end. Despite that, it was an amazing experience and so was

Hello,

 

Having a baby is one of the most wonderful things I have ever experienced. And

yes it can be quite daunting/scary especially your first baby.

 

I guess there could be several reasons your are not sleeping including hormones

and anxiety - try and meditate before bedtime.

 

There is a wonderful website you can look at (they also have a you

can join) Lauren the group moderator it quite an amazing woman and has a wealth

of information on Natural pregnancy, birthing, babies ect - there are also a LOT

of women in the group who are VERY knowledgable (sp?) on what you can and can't

Be sure to take a prenatal vitamin with at least 400 mcg of Folic Acid

starting right now. It prevents many birthdefects.

 

Try to relax, you've got a time to deal with being pregnant, and all

the changes it will make in your life. Slow down, write a list and

prioritize all your needs and concerns. Deal with them one at a time.

This is assuming that the anxiety you might have is keeping you up.

 

Take comfort that women have been doing this forever. That doesn't

make it any less intense for you personally, but we do manage, and you

will too.

 

Have you ever had other issues that kept you awake? what did you do

then? eat well, excercise moderately, and please enter prenatal care

of some kind.

When I was deployed I had problems sleeping due to some noisy roommates. I ran

very hard in the mornings and took sleeping pills at night. I dont think either

of those things will be good for the baby.

 

What about natural treatments for allergies? I can't take Claritin anymore.

 

And I have bad gas, anything I can do about that?

Prenatal vitamins are essential. " Aller Release " from

Unicity is all herbal allergy supplement. Melatonin to

help you sleep. Lavender oil on a used dryer sheet

under your pillow case. Camomile tea to relax.

Biofeedback before the 3rd trimester will help with

relaxing and better sleep. I worked on my daughter and

then again in the delivery room. I now have a healthy,

happy, easy going granddaughter who is developing

exceptionally fast for her age.

i hoe yiu make a wonderful mother ...

 

look into --yes a good question ...

nutrition would recomend you study this

lots of protein ,vitamins essentil fatty acids minerals fruit etc

oner of the best things you can do for your family is to give them

good food and build good food habits..

 

then there is playing classical music while you are epregnant

even talking to the little soul whom is within you ....

looking after your self is now your first prioority
