Exercise and Itching

Hello,

I would first like to say that exercise is great for arthritis and

depression. I suffered for five years. Over the past 8 months I've

been exercising and can ow do an hour of cardio without pain. If I

skip more than 1 day of exercise, I definitely notice my mood changes

and pain increases.

The weird thing is that over the past month, I've started itching

whenever I exercise. I feel like I'm allergic to my sweat! It's very

annoying, mostly upper body, my arms and neck. After I stop, the

itching goes away pretty soon. I drink a lot of water, so I don't

think it is dehydration. Perhaps I am eliminating toxins through my

skin, but then why didn't I have this discomfort when I started? I

haven't made any changes to my diet over the past month. It's strange.

I definitely don't want to quit my exercise program since it helps

with both the arthritis and keeps me from being depressed.

Peace.

You don't mention whether you take any supplements. The first thing

that came to mind when I read your post was you may need magnesium.

Magnesium deficiency could contribute to the arthritis and the

depression. If you are low in minerals anyway, exercise could

exacerbate that deficiency. I recently read that itching skin could

mean one needs magnesium.
