Guest guest
I'm pretty sure I know what's causing it (sodas) but it could also be peri-menopause or??? So just in case I'm wrong I'm bouncing this off the list for ideas. I don't usually drink sodas or eat fast food, but lately (regretably)I've been doing both. Ugh. All of a sudden I've got a painful rash on a couple of my fingers. It started on my ring finger, it's swollen up and I have a nasty red rash that itches and has the skin peeling and what looks like tiny blisters. It moved to the other hand and is on the two middle fingers. I also have three spots on the back of my hands that look like herpes blisters. I thought I had burned my hands on our tiny oven, but the blisters haven't gone away yet. What's odd is that it's only on a couple of fingers, not all of them. The other thing is...and possibly unrelated or not, is that I get a rash on my right foot and between the toes. It makes the skin peel and painful and sometimes I get tiny red bumps too. What's going on??? Trish
Guest guest
Hi I'm new to the group and I experienced a very similar rash right after I stopped breast feeding (I know TMI). I think it has to do with hormonal changes, so you might want to watch it especially if you are in perimenopause. My rash lasted for about two months then just like that it was gone. I didn't see a doctor for it, as a med student I don't usually travel to the doctor very often. Hope you figure it out. Tara Tara Bryant BryantCandles.com Much More Than Just Candles! Guest guest
Do you think you may have a case of acute hives? I have chronic ones...and sometimes they can be caused by allergies amongst other things. ck out www.chronichives.com, or look up chronic urticaria. May not be, you may have had a case of acute ones, which in fact go away when allergens are removed. Unfortunately, if they go chronic, is another animal....good luck
Guest guest
I may be way off the mark, but I would have to agree with the allergy idea. My mother used to have something similar happen, especially when she was really stressed out. She has quite severe allergies to cow's milk, shellfish (even just handling it makes her hands break out in the way you're describing) and is borderline diabetic. So... Maybe the allergy thing isn't so far fetched, perhaps? Just a thought. All best, Dawn www.windtraveler.net , " Diane Zito " <dtzito wrote: > > Do you think you may have a case of acute hives? Guest guest
My sis was recently diagnosed with erythema multiforme and sounds similar to what you describe. Herpes is often implicated in this disorder, but other factors can contribute. I've also had a client with the severe form - very nasty and painful. This is not a common disease and can be sometimes misdiagnosed. This is just one possiblity of the many things your symptoms could indicate. Best wishes! Guest guest
if you wore rings on those fingers and they were silver, it may be that the silver was mixed with nickel. Nickel causes terrible rashes on some people and they are slow to heal. peace, thyme <BR><BR><BR>**************************************<BR> AOL now offers free email to everyone. Guest guest
It also could be a candida breakout, a fungal infection (like athletes foot type thing) or excema. The first two are both fungal, and love warm, damp places, Ie between toes and fingers. I get an excema breakout (as does my boss) between the fingers as well. You may want to try black walnut tincture on it, see how that does. Any skin rash, is often times best healed from the outside in, as our skin is our largest organ for elimination! Toxins that can't get out otherwise will push themselves out that way. That's the theory behind many types of excema also. So....lots of water, lots of fresh, living and natural foods. You can also try calendula, chammomile, but especially black walnut on skin rashes. My best to you, in health - Sarah Anne , " stasch63 " <PurrfectHarmonyFarm wrote: > > I'm pretty sure I know what's causing it (sodas) but it could also be > peri-menopause or??? Guest guest
Hi, Trish -- it sounds quite similar to the rash my husband and son get when they're zinc deficient, and my husband's always starts on his ring finger! He's only had it a few times over the last 10 years or so, and our son (now 14) had it for the first time only recently. We're in New Zealand, where mineral deficiencies in the soil are common, but when we lived in the states was the first time it showed up for my husband. At our local healthy food shop, they have a liquid you take a small sip of and hold in the mouth for a few seconds, and then report on the strength of taste. If it tastes like nothing/water, you are zinc deficient (it's quite bitter if you are not). Here, it doesn't cost a cent to do the zinc test. As soon as my son got on a zinc supplement, the rash was gone in less than a week. Anyway, I hope you find relief soon.
