Does anyone have a replacement for Ibuprofen. I'm using it for

infamation reduction and I don't want to anymore. Everytime I visit

my doctor, it's take more Ibuprofen. I've already learned to live

with some pain, but I'd like there to be another answer.

Hi Elinor,

What are you taking Ibuprofen for? Extended use of

Ibuprofen is not good for you. It is very harsh on the

stomach lining.

I would rather suggest looking for a cure for the

source of the pain rather than simply masking it with

Ibuprofen. This coming from someone who has had 2 back

surgeries, and continued chronic back pain. I could

live on the stuff, But I found just bought me time and

until the next morning.

The key is to find your source of pain and deal with

it directly. You can't take Ibuprofen for the rest of

your life.

Best of luck to you,

Michael

Omega 3 fats help control inflammation. Take some fish oil

capsules or eat some canned salmon every day. If you take

the fish oil caps, I would try for at least 3 or 4 grams

a day. A recent study showed that a good percentage of

patients with back pain that involved nerve damage were

able to quit all pain medication after taking omega 3

supplements.

Our diet today is not balanced as far as fat sources

like it has been in the past so that we don't get enough

omega 3 fatty acids. We need to supplement. Too much omega 6

fatty acids, like we get in the vegetable oils that are so

much a part of our modern diet, will actually feed the

inflammation process. Cattle fed only grass will have plenty

of omega 3 fats in relation to omega 6 fats - but we put them

in pens now & feed them on grain to fatten them & that

drastically reduces the omega 3 fats while it increased

omega 6 fats. Little wonder that we have so many diseases

now that are caused/worsened by inflammation, even including

heart disease.

Another thing you might try for pain/inflammation is noni

juice. I haven't tried it myself but have heard many many

reports on how it helps with pain & since it has a lot of

bromelain in it, it works to control inflammation. Worth

a try.

Dietary sugar feeds inflammation too so you might try cutting

back or elimenating that from your diet.
