Guest guest
I am looking for a suitable supplement to boost my immune system and also those of my two children, age 3 1/2 and 18 months. The past month has been difficult for us - my marriage has broken up, my daughter (3 1/2) is just recovering from a food poisoning infection (campylobacter) and we are plagued with coughs and recently, bad flu. In two weeks we are flying long haul from the UK to New Zealand to spend time with family and I'd like us to feel better in time for our flight and survive the onslaught of the many bugs we'll be exposed to en route. I'm thinking of a garlic supplement for myself and also echinacea for both myself and the children. Any other suggestions? What is the recommended dose of echinacea for adults and children in our situation? Also, is Arnica the best homeopathic remedy to help with jet lag? I have heard varying opinions. Many thanks. Guest guest
Astralagus and Probiotics will also boost the immune system. As for dosage it really depends on what type you are using being pills, tincture, etc...Usually there is a dosage on the bottle which I always start off with a little less than the recommended dosage and go from there. Just remember that echinacea should be used on and off for instance 6 days off 6 days on type thing if you choose to use that. Astralagus can be used all the time. Guest guest
Astragalus is excellent for immune system. Can also be cooked in stews and soups or as broth. Echinacea must be taken only 4 days with 3 days off or it will not work. (This is what I learned from my teacher. There are other recommendations for how long to take and how long to stop taking it.) Best taken at the start of a cold or sore throat etc, Golden Seal great too. Best to take separately from Echinacea to be able to stop the echinacea for a few days. More herbs for immune system.very good information at this site. _http://www.blessedmaineherbs.com/herforhealim.html_ (http://www.blessedmaineherbs.com/herforhealim.html) Peace, thyme
