Guest guest
Debra, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I guess this is a good time to say that any kind of procedure can cause problems/even death. Probably the doctors had a form that he signed that outlined everything that could go wrong during or after the procedure (I know there was about a 3-page thing I read prior to my colon exam). Yes, they can put you to sleep now for these, they used to do them wide awake -- which is, to say the least, grueling. I've had several lower GI's and colonoscopies done. I'd avoided them for 10 years and when I heard they now knock you out I said, " Great, I'll do it! " I had no ill after effects like I did when I was wide awake for the procedure. Anesthesia carries its own set of problems -- I just saw something last week where a young 18-year old died during a " routine " nose job. Even having your teeth cleaned without anesthesia can cause a sometimes rare problem. I'm of course not advocating anyone or anything, but even alternative therapies can come with their own set of problems. Dede
