Guest guest
Has anyone encountered toxic mold in their homes and what it can do to a person. What herbs are good to take to rid the body of the toxins? Anyone having any experience or info. please enlighten me. Thanks kindly!
Guest guest
Dear 'solema97', Interestingly, I also have been involved in an emerging area called Moisture Management which is a new approach to dealing with the rapidly growing issues around mold. There are several misconceptions about mold. First, mold itself is NOT toxic to you, rather certain varieties of mold spores in certain conditions produce what is called mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are actually what is harmful (toxic) to your body. Second, bleach and " Kilz " or other 'cover-up' sealers do NOT work effectively in removing mold from any surface where spores might be left behind (wood, sheetrock, carpet, clothing, etc.) or might be redeposited by the source of the spores or by a conveyance such as your home HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) systems. Third, having traditional mold remediation has been the best solution available to most homes and commercial buildings, however, the results are varied and often not effective for a number of reasons. The source of the moisture that supports microbial (mold) growth is not properly eliminated; traditional remediation, generally, only removes visible microbial growth and anti-microbial/anti-fungal products generally only kill the active mold on surfaces treated , but often does not prevent reoccurrence. Almost ALL anti-microbial/anti-fungal products are required to be registered by the EPA because of their own toxicity to humans and animals. This is NOT a good thing to be coating the interior of your home with and leaving it there but that is what happens which only ADDS to the toxicity and health issues. For this very reason these products CANNOT be applied within your HVAC systems because they would contaminate your entire house with toxic chemicals as soon as the system is turned on. This is a major issue with remediation results as one of the most frequent and conducive locations in your home for microbial growth is INSIDE your HVAC system! Construction methods in recent years have closed up, wrapped up and sealed up our new homes tighter than ever to cut energy costs which has led to homes and commercial buildings holding in any ambient moisture which in-turn leads to increased mold problems. Property Insurance claims related to mold recently rose from payouts of $700 Million to over $2 Billion in just two years, much of which is coming from rapidly increasing lawsuits over health and death claims due to mold. Related to your health much is known and unknown at the same time. Countless health related issues including asthma, allergies, various lung diseases, memory loss, loss of concentration and 'brain fog', headaches, rashes, breathing issues, coughing, several auto-immune disorders and diseases, infections and the list goes on including death in some cases are strongly related to exposure to the mycotoxins produced by mold. There are rapidly growing cases of long-term compromise and destruction of the immune system and appearance of multiple hypersensitivities to other irritants and chemicals that in many cases are destroying people's quality of life. Certain herbs may be beneficial for certain conditions or minor detoxing, etc. but in many cases a person has had their immune system severely or completely compromised and I believe this is beyond the reaches of herbs. I do believe complete detoxing, cleansing and total nutritional support is the answer. Of course in the opinion of now hundreds of thousands (including me and over 5,000 medical doctors) Glyconutrients have the structure and function capacity to assist the body to recover its own immune system from the most hopeless cases. That is among the many reasons that I represent them. www.GotGlyco.com Above I mentioned that ALMOST all mold remediation carries with it additional risks and toxic issues. A company that I operate represents a relatively new mold remediation process and product that is OSHA and EPA designated as safe and 100% non-toxic and yet is much more effective (virtually 100%) at completely removing and even preventing regrowth of mold. It is cheaper, less invasive and absolutely safe to use in a home to the extent that the product is atomized and applied to an operating HVAC system so that the entire home/building is treated. The product is naturally occurring, safe enzymes and bacteria that not only kill the mold but consume all the spores so it can never regrow and the residue is not harmful and yet helps prevent reoccurance in the future. It has been extensively tested by third parties and used on a small scale for over 7 years without a single recurrent problem. The challenge right now is it is only available in a very small number of cities and is only available from specially certified remediators. My company in conjunction with the exclusive distributor is working to get it into every major market within a year. This is not a commercial to sell anything because the general public cannot buy the product anyway, but it is shared as education that safer, healthier, less-expensive solutions are available now or soon for your mold problems. The EPA has a large amount of info on mold that may be helpful also but keep in mind that the information is already outdated because of technologies like ours that are far superior and safer than " the standard " solution. =============== >Posted by: " solema97 " <solema97?Subject=%20Re%3AToxic%20Mold%3F> solema97 <http://profiles./solema97> solema97 >Wed Jan 31, 2007 6:03 pm (PST) >Has anyone encountered toxic mold in their homes and what it can do to >a person. She has a whole website devoted to the topic: http://moldmisery.com She wrote: " Jatoba saved my life " . She used Jatoba plain, from http://rain-tree.com Jatoba is an Amazon tree. Remember, down in the swampy hot jungle you learn to fight funguses or you turn into one. So let's step into the Amazon Rainforest store for a minute, and see what we have in there that might be helpful. (people with deep convictions against direct selling can stop reading here) Jatoba is a main ingredient in the wonderful tea I drink almost daily. It is combined with Una de Gato, the Chanca Piedra we mentioned earlier as a remedy for kidney stones, and some other goodies. I'd be glad to send you a sample. In the Arcozon formula Jatoba is combined with another well-known fungus fighter, Pau D'Arco, and others fungus fighters. If I were exposed to toxic mold I would take huge amounts of Arcozon, Fiberzon to cleanse the intestine, Envirozon to support the liver, and Rainforest Treasure Tea for extra oomph. I assume you already have a good fiber product in your own Mannatech store, so use that! Anyway, that's my 2 cents!
