Guest guest
Hi, Can anyone help or steer me differently?? I have a 3 year old female Maine Coon cat who was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Ulcer before she was a year old. We were living in Germany at the time, and yes she is a German cat...there she got allergy shots when the ulcers get really bad and 2 weeks after that she takes prednisone 5mg. every other day until the next shot. The vets tell me that in most cases within a year of this treatment the disease clears up, but not with Sasha. One of my vets consulted with specialists and they said there is nothing that can be done. This is very painful for the cat and for me to watch her go through it. Also, the pills are difficult for me to give her because of her gums and lips being so sore.....Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is there something natural that I can give her to help? Oh and she goes through bouts of hair loss, which I assume to be the prednisone. But without it she would be worse!!! Help! Thank you, Lynn Latham blue_texasgal Edith <woodstone wrote: Hi Dave, I have an 11 year old cat with 2 huge tumors. One is at the top of the back of his head, and the other is on his shoulder. They may or may not be cancer. He has not been to a Vet, because he cannot be taken out of the house. He goes into extreme panic and violently vomits. He had many health problems at birth and was rejected by his mother, so he was hand raised by us and a little later spared formula insult to his nutrition by his aunt accepting and nursing him to weaning. The Vet at the time said not to waste time with him as he was dying from at least 3 causes. Last time he saw a Vet he was neutered along with his half brother and sister. Comet is a huge 17 pound cat with hard muscles and great strength. He isn't really bright and is clumsy, but very affectionate. He and his siblings were born from feral cats so they alarm and panic quickly. Comet has been totally inactive for some time, only getting up to eat or use the litterbox. I have been studying the Budwig Protocol for some time. I whip about 2 Tbsp. low fat cottage cheese with about a Tbsp. Barleans Flax Seed Oil with a stick blender, and then feed it to him off of my two middle fingers, until he won't accept any more. We do this twice a day. Sometimes he isn't interested (seldom) and then I grasp his front leg and rub it into the fur. He licks it off. Now the important part is he is again active and functional. He was in active for a very long time. He had very bulgy sides; when he could walk he looked pregnant with elephants. Right away he slimmed down to normal size, but maintained his normal weight. He still rest a lot but not as much as his siblings. He can tear through the house at break-neck speed once again. For about 2 years he was declining no matter what we did. Now he is full of mischief. He has accepted kefir many times and requested it also. But it showed no similar results. Once he started eating the FSO/CC he loudly demands it each day. Being a cat he sometimes isn't interested, so I intervene. I plan to continue this for his lifetime. I've also started using it to help with lung problems. It also helps me. A cat will more easily accept the FSO/CC and it will cure cancer, but needs to be continued for life. May this information be a beneficial to you and Nola as it has been to us. Our Comet is again alive -- no longer a living death waiting to happen. If you need further information feel free to ask, either on the list or privately. Sincerely, Edith woodstone > 7a. Guest guest
You need to have a professional look over this cat.....call the vet you use and ask him/her for a strong sedative because of your cats reaction. Once sedated you can have her appropriately looked at and diagnosed. Sedatives can be administered by pill or liquid form so choose what works best for your cat. medusa - " Lynn Latham " <blue_texasgal Tuesday, January 30, 2007 12:58 AM Cat with with Eosinophilic Ulcer > Hi, > Can anyone help or steer me differently?? I have a 3 year old female Maine Coon cat who was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Ulcer before she was a year old. YES. Get over to holisticat. It's a all about holistic cat care. You will find so much wonderful information. The group is moving at midnight on the 31st, so you need to get over there ASAP to check it out. Once it's moved she's going to charge to be a part of the group. But it's only .068 per day! (If you sign up for a year) There is a " test " period in which you can be a part of the group for free. The fee is less than most people spend in a day on sodas and coffee! For me it was an easy choice. If not for the Holisticat group my 16 yo CRF cat would not be alive! I've saved the lives of several of my cats due to what I learned on holisticat. Do you feed raw? You need to. It's easy, cheap, healthy and natural. All commercial food is crap and nasty stuff. See this link: http://www.newstarget.com/012647.html Do you vaccinate? You should NOT. It's bad. It's all propoganda and money in the already too deep pockets of the drug makers. Guest guest
I would suggest going to the catwell. The people there are VERY helpful and the list owner has devoted her life to cat health. She's a classical trained homeopath who will give many suggestions on remedies for free when you write the list, and you can also write her off list and get a paid consultation. She's saved many cats lives. Samala Renee ---- Lynn Latham <blue_texasgal wrote: >Can anyone help or steer me differently?? Guest guest
There are Vets that come to the house, maybe you can look into that. Guest guest
Hi Lynn cause cats can get tumors from many types of Inj. When are cancer. when you have time check out www.catshots.com They call it VAS, V=Vacc, and ISS I=Inj. It's not fun to go through, i had a cat die from it, vet say it rare, but it's not when it's your cat, plus it more common then the all vets really know. I hope you cat gets better Vickie Thanks Vickie... No she hasn't had shots in her shoulder, why? Guest guest
Vickie, Thanks for the info, I had no idea about the tumors, and I am so sorry for the loss of your kitty...I had to put one down in 2005 due to kidney disease and it was awful....I felt soooo guilty and my hubby was in Iraq. Thank goodness for my daughter and the support of my friends. Lynn Vickie <vjunger wrote: Hi Lynn cause cats can get tumors from many types of Inj. Guest guest
Lynn, Your welcome for the advise on the VAS. Hopfully I've have saved more lives becasue what I and others have gone through. We even have a spec. to help keep the fight going. We have gotten laws changed in other states, for the way they give types of shots. There was a Dr Foster and Smith that was giving a shot in the wrong place on a cat, and we edu them and had them chg there picture and wording. Some of these are life savers.
