Guest guest
My girlfriend has several patches of varicose veins on her legs. I was wondering if there was a herb(s), or any other natural remedy recommended. She does not like the idea of wearing support hose, and stripping the veins out seems like a barbaric idea. Also I noted the post about the benefits of banannas. Years ago I had a very strict diet, and ended up getting very sickly. Just by accident it happened that around that time I bought several bunches of ripe banannas. In just a couple of days I felt so much better that I have been a bananna advocate ever since. Also many types of high blood pressure medicine seems to deplete the body of potassium. Without replacement you can end up feeling deathly sick. Banannas, like the article said, is an excellent source of this, and I have heard it said that when you take a table-spoon of apple cider vinegar and honey each day you end up getting a really healthy dose of potassium. Guest guest
I was taught that Gotu Kola is good for spider veins and Horse Chesnut is good for varicose veins. I never had the problem so cannot speak from experience. I think if I did I would use a good colon cleanse and treat the liver and kidneys with Dandelion leaf and root in a tincture form. What I think is that it is probably due to pressure that is causing poor blood flow to the legs. So it would be well to clear the lymph glands also. Red Root for a short time, say a couple weeks and then Cleavers would help. Try lymph gland massages also.If your health food/herb store has an alternative health directory, find someone there who does this. Possibly the phone book may list someone also in the alternative health section. I would also wrap my legs in bandages soaked in castor oil at night with saran wrap over that. It could not hurt and would probably ease the pain also. Peace, Thyme
Guest guest
Tincture of horse chestnut is supposed to be helpful for varicose veins, but you also want to look at the root cause: varicose veins are caused by a sluggish liver. All the women in my family had bad varicose veins and had their gallbladders removed. I have had some varicose veins since I was 18, but they don't bother me much unless I misbehave myself nutritionally. Then they swell up and I feel them. At 63 I am pleased to say that my gall bladder is still where it is supposed to be, embedded in my liver. All this health nut stuff seems to have worked. Guest guest
" You can also get the Horse-chestnut in Herbal-capsules. I read to use " Vitamin K creme and Vit. C and/or Grape-seed extract tablets. The no. one key to Natural Healing is " Buying the Nutrients; this can be quite expensive; however by buying Nutrients you promote Natural Remedies buy promoting the Nutrition Co.'s. Nutrients really work.
