Guest guest
Our cat Nola, who will turn 18 next month, was recently diagnosed with cancer. It was discovered when we had a biopsy done on her lymph node in her neck. We were told the cancer isn't there but most likely in her sinuses. Due to her age and the severity of the operation, we decided not to put her through that ordeal. One thing that was suggested was Essiac tea. Well, we got some and brewed it up. Then we tried to give it to her. First we tried mixing it in her food, but that didn't work. Next we tried with a syringe and you can only imagine the results. My question is, would the Essiac be just as effective if we mixed the powder on her food instead of brewing it and how much should we give her?. Thanks in advance for any and all your help Dave
Guest guest
Usually it's best as a liquid, but it certainly won't hurt to try it dry on her food. But the herbs taste so bad I doubt she'll eat it. If you were trying to squirt it down her throat with a syringe that doesn't work either. What you do is put the liquid in the syringe and then squirt it along her gums, between her teeth and sides of her mouth. This allows the liquid to kind of slide down her throat and should be much easier for her (and you) than squirting it down the back of her throat. Tilt her head back, squirt in along the gums and close her mouth. She'll swallow some of it easier that way. Or, you might try a homeopathic /ike remedy of Essiac. Take the tea and add a few drops to her drinking water. That might work, though it's not a real homeopathic remedy. Good luck with your fur kid. Guest guest
Dave - I've read in several articles on the essiac tea that it's the actual brewing that brings out the curing qualities. I've had very good luck with getting cats to take liquid meds by putting it in about a tablespoon of half and half cream. Give her several " treats " of the h/h before actually put the essiac in it. Hopefully she will take it that way. Guest guest
Re:Cancer and Pets The powdered herbs are not effective. Brew it. Feed her the tea. Put one or two drops in food or water and increase slowly. It can also be given as a suppository or topically in the area of the cancer. Or put one diluted drop in each ear or on the bottom of her feet and increase slowly. There are other things that can be used to reverse cancer that do not taste so bad. Ex.H2O2 2-3 drops in water Aloe Vera juice Liquid chlorophyll or other greens. Why do think that cats and dogs chew on grass and do not eat when they are sick? But they do take water. Vegetable juicing I cured my Sheep dog of cancer with a juice fast (7-10 days) and then adding back veg. home made diet Lots of water add drops to energize Check with health food store. and the list goes on. Also, try better cat food from the health food store during detox. Vegetarian is best. Guest guest
Hi Dave, I have an 11 year old cat with 2 huge tumors. One is at the top of the back of his head, and the other is on his shoulder. They may or may not be cancer. He has not been to a Vet, because he cannot be taken out of the house. He goes into extreme panic and violently vomits. He had many health problems at birth and was rejected by his mother, so he was hand raised by us and a little later spared formula insult to his nutrition by his aunt accepting and nursing him to weaning. The Vet at the time said not to waste time with him as he was dying from at least 3 causes. Last time he saw a Vet he was neutered along with his half brother and sister. Comet is a huge 17 pound cat with hard muscles and great strength. He isn't really bright and is clumsy, but very affectionate. He and his siblings were born from feral cats so they alarm and panic quickly. Comet has been totally inactive for some time, only getting up to eat or use the litterbox. I have been studying the Budwig Protocol for some time. I whip about 2 Tbsp. low fat cottage cheese with about a Tbsp. Barleans Flax Seed Oil with a stick blender, and then feed it to him off of my two middle fingers, until he won't accept any more. We do this twice a day. Sometimes he isn't interested (seldom) and then I grasp his front leg and rub it into the fur. He licks it off. Now the important part is he is again active and functional. He was in active for a very long time. He had very bulgy sides; when he could walk he looked pregnant with elephants. Right away he slimmed down to normal size, but maintained his normal weight. He still rest a lot but not as much as his siblings. He can tear through the house at break-neck speed once again. For about 2 years he was declining no matter what we did. Now he is full of mischief. He has accepted kefir many times and requested it also. But it showed no similar results. Once he started eating the FSO/CC he loudly demands it each day. Being a cat he sometimes isn't interested, so I intervene. I plan to continue this for his lifetime. I've also started using it to help with lung problems. It also helps me. A cat will more easily accept the FSO/CC and it will cure cancer, but needs to be continued for life. May this information be a beneficial to you and Nola as it has been to us. Our Comet is again alive -- no longer a living death waiting to happen. If you need further information feel free to ask, either on the list or privately. Sincerely, Edith woodstone > 7a. Guest guest
Hi Edith Thank you so much for the information. We tried Nola on the Essiac tea for a week with no signs of change. I looked into the Budwig Protocol and it looks very interesting. So we picked up the Flax seed oil and some cottage cheese and we're giving it a try. She seems to like it so that's more than half the battle. (not so the Essiac by a long shot :-). I had a question for you, about how long would you say it should take to notice any change? Thanks again and I'll keep you posted Dave
