Guest guest
I need suggestions as to what I can do for my 10 year old daughter's cough. I will go to the dr on Monday, but in the meantime she needs some relief, if possible. I dont know what else to do besides the over the counter cough syrup which doesnt seem to do much good. I will try to get her to drink some tea with honey but I have no clue what else to do. Any answers ASAP would be MUCH appreciated. Everyone in here has so much good advice! Thank you. Guest guest
Slippery Elm, Fenugreek seed, Mullien, and Lobelia are good for coughs and lungs. A good Cough tea with ginger in it is exdellent for colds and coughs. Jenny Kernan --- Frazz <frazzmomto4 wrote: > I need suggestions as to what I can do for my 10 > year old daughter's > cough. Guest guest
Rub her down chest and back with Vicks Vapor Rub. Wachters also has a very good rub of the same type. Rub till you feel heat under your hands paying special attention to the lungs and bronchial areas. Put some on her neck and behind the ears. Put some up her nose with a Q-tip and some on her lips that she can lick off. Have her breathe some steam, being careful that she does not get too close, steam can burn. Have her inhale with her mouth and nose alternately. Robitussin also works very well. Peace, thyme
Guest guest
Try this...i find it effective for my daughter when she has a problematic cough. Take a heaped tea spoon of Fenugreek seeds, and put it to a boil with about a mug of water. When the water is about halved after boiling, let it cool until warm enough to drink, strain, and give the tea to her to drink, maybe about 3 times a day, but definately before she sleeps. She may find the taste somewhat bitter initially, but will find it acceptable as she continues to sip it. This should bring relief. The other thing I have found effective is a a teaspoon of honey, tipped with a little bit of tumeric powder on it. But try the tea. Guest guest
A teaspoon of oil might help soothe the throat; it worked for me. > > I need suggestions as to what I can do for my 10 > > year old daughter's > > cough. Guest guest
There are two often overlooked causes of a Cough: 1. one is eating excess sugar; sugar creates mucous; Mucous is a poly- sachiride created by the stomach. The more sugar you eat; the more mucous your stoamch creates. So reduce table sugar intake. 2. other cause of a cough can be constipation; cosntipation causes minute fibers and particles to back up in the system like a clogged drain. These minute particles can actually clog up the throat. So making sure girl is regular is a very good step to ovecoming cough. , " Mary Hugs Nkisses " <tiredgirl50 wrote: > > A teaspoon of oil might help soothe the throat; it worked for me. > > > > I need suggestions as to what I can do for my 10 > > > year old daughter's > > > cough. Guest guest
I know that you went to the doc yesterday. However, you should not give your baby honey. It says it on the label. Honey also assists in clogging babies. The air in your residence may be dry. I'm sure the doc gave you a humidifier or vaporizor. Put it on during the day and night. , " Frazz " <frazzmomto4 wrote: > > I need suggestions as to what I can do for my 10 year old daughter's > cough.
