my husband stepped on a nail in our yard. it's not the cleanest

environment at the moment-it's been 48 hours and he hasn't gotten a

tetanus shot yet. my fear is that the shot will be too late to do any

good-are there other remedies?

saturate a bandaid with castor oil and put on the wound. Do this for a week,

changing daily. Castor oil has drawing powers.

Try 2-3 drops of H2O2 in water to drink and topically on the foot.

Or do a foot soak/bath with H2O2 or salt and baking soda to draw out

toxins. Reiki is good too.

Namaste,

The most important thing I keep reading about preventing tetanus is to

keep the wound OPEN at the top, until it heals from the inside. Oxygen

kills the tetanus bacteria; if the top heals over and the wound is

still open under the surface, those bacteria thrive without oxygen.

What I do when I get a puncture wound is to just scrub the little top

of the hole every day for a few days until it's obvious that it's

healing. Peroxide on it, too. Give it a good shot of oxygen.
