Guest guest
Hi, I need some advice about getting my son to take his vitamins. He has learniing disabilities and needs to take fish oil ( about 8 capsules) high quality multi- ( 6 caps!) , extra b stress tab, C cap, and 2 caps of a " brain formula " . I am trying to make his diet more nutrient dense by preparing fresh pizza with fresh cheese meat, and olive oil with milk for breakfast. After school l he also wants pizza . Any idea fo healthy toppings ? The only veggie I can get him to eat are potatoes. Any way to prepare veggies in disquise? He eats crap at school and I can't control it. Why do the schools sabotage us this way? For dinner he has chicken meat or whole wheat pasta. Any books for moms who have kids who are fussy eaters? I know he feels better and does better in school when he eats right and takes his vits but it's hard to stay on top of it. Personally, I never eat anything out of a can or box, only organic. But when my son was younger I was sick and gave him fast food and now it's very difficult to change his habits. I regret that I didn't have a better support system,( family or friends) to help me be a better mom at the time. Any help would be apreciated. This forum has been so helpful. It's helped me a great deal to cut out dairy and gluten . All of the inflammation in my hands and legs went down, ( all the swelling). A week after being off the gluten and dairy, I ran across the street and realized my knees didn't hurt anymore!!! I recomend the Detox Diet by Elson Haas. I 'm detoxing with his group in San Rafael Ca, now. Thanks for your help
Guest guest
Try liquid vitamins. See what else they have in liquid form. It also depends on the age of the child. To correct learning disabilities, use audiotherapy. Audiotherapy has been used in Europe for 50 years to correct ADD/ADHD and learning problems. It is easy to do at home once set up by a trained professional. Therapy can be covered by med. insurance under counseling. If you are interested, write me for more information and I will give you resources where you can find info and background on the internet. Guest guest
Send him with his lunch rather than expect the schools to give him what he needs. Then you control what he eats and drinks more easily. Vibe jr is a complete nutritional supplement in liquid that kids will take readily. It's all natural. It contains a complete nutritional support for kids. Everything you mentioned is in this liquid supplement. Changing their habits takes time, just like creating them did. Change them...when he gets hungry enough he will eat what you fix. Just make sure he gets his supplements while doing this. It took my kids a couple weeks to get used to not having meat, but now they don't fight me. You're not being cruel to your child, you're doing him a favor. Guest guest
Hi Dottie, I hear you! Why are the schools feeding them junk, indeed? My grandson is quite sensitive to food colorings, and is hypoglycemic. He needs his midmorning snack or he loses it. It took my daughter ages to convince the school that that was really a big factor. When she allowed him to join the school lunch program as a treat he promptly regressed. Too much junk in it. grrr! The tide seems to be turning, thanks to aware parents like you. How to get vegetables into a kid? Does he like them raw with a dip? Or ground and hidden in a pancake? Capsules can be softened in a bit of apple sauce, it makes them much easier to swallow. Or: open them up and make a green juice including the contents of the capsules, and ask him to gulp it down in one swallow like a man! Good luck with it.
