Guest guest
OK.. wonderful article (on the udder truth)... since i am new to all this homeopathic/holistic way of life could some one shed light on to what to eat my cereal w/ and what to eat my organic cookies with? We buy Silk Soy Milk but w/ all the recent articles on how bad " soy " is for you... I will no longer buy soy milk. We buy Organic Cow's milk as well for the " husband " but now after reading this article, IS Raw Milk better.. We sometimes drink " Goat's " Milk as well. But my Nutritionist said cause i want to have more children.. that I should stay away from Goats milk if i want to concieve. I am so confused.. i am willing to sign up to get raw cow milk at our local farmers market but since i am a novice to all this, am wondering if there milk is good or they are just saying it is good.. u know what i mean? Is Rice milk ok to drink.. or should i stop drinking milk all together.. But i like to eat ceral in the morning and would wonder what to put on it instead of milk.. Please offer some advice for a new person.. Thanks, Meg
Guest guest
Raw milk is good. I used it - even milked the cow that gave it sometimes - when I lived in California. Rice milk is also good. I don't use soy at all. You can also put fruit juice on cereal; it is surprisingly good. Guest guest
Meg, I can only tell you our experience. After my son was diagnosed with numerous food allergies and taken off of dairy, I also read all the reports about soy milk - good and bad. My conclusion is that soy milk/soy formula is destructive for infants and children, males in particular. However I have heard from a few women that soy milk is recommended to ease menopause. Devon has been drinking Pacific brand rice milk since September and he loves it! It is organic and low-fat and comes in plain and vanilla flavors. Pacific also makes oat milk and almond milk and multi-grain milk. There is potato milk also though I can't remember the name. My husband and I drink 1% cows milk and we're fine with that. Guest guest
I started using rice milk on my cereal a while back because cow's milk makes me nauseous--guess I'm allergic. I LOVE IT! Buy the " enriched original " rice milk for the calcium. Almond milk is good too--although it might cause one to be a tad more gassy. Be sure to shake before use. It will also last a lot longer than cow's milk in the fridge and in the cabinet unrefrigerated. Hope this helps John , " Meg " <irish_blessings wrote: > > OK.. wonderful article (on the udder truth)... since i am new to all > this homeopathic/holistic way of life could some one shed light on > to what to eat my cereal w/ and what to eat my organic cookies with? > > We buy Silk Soy Milk but w/ all the recent articles on how bad " soy " > is for you... Guest guest
I feel your pain. Sometimes I think that no one really knows. If I were you I would just drink regular milk that is in the store. Thats what everyone else drinks. I may be mistaken but I think all the other types of milk are for people with allergies and things, I live in a farm area and there is alot of raw milk available however I am afraid to drink it fearing my body may not be used to it and I may develope some kind of allergy not to mention stomach issues. I would change to something else gradually. We all want better health however what works for some may not work for others. Let me know if you find out the difference between all the different milks (real or fake ) It is very interesting to know. Good Luck Meg <irish_blessings wrote: OK.. wonderful article (on the udder truth)... since i am new to all this homeopathic/holistic way of life could some one shed light on to what to eat my cereal w/ and what to eat my organic cookies with? Guest guest
i always did soymilk intil recently myself...i can't have cow's milk and have from time to time had goat's milk. i have a friend who is lactose intollerant and alergic to soy...she used to use rice milk, which is ok, but she found that it felt the startches weighed her down to much, both she and i have switched over to nutmilks...the most readily available is almond milk. if you are trying to concieve it is a good idea to avoid soy altogether...although, typically fermented soy is ok for you in some moderate quantities. -simone be the change you wish to see in the world - ghandi Don't pick lemons. AND, it still made me feel sort of slimy inside if we used it daily, even made into yogurt. Alas, the local cow died giving birth this year. Guest guest
I adopted a medically fragile child who was allergic to the chemicals found in baby formulas. We were told to go to goat milk or soy milk. I ordered organic soybeans and started to make it and he loved it, although there was not enough fat in it for an infant. I made the whole 50 pound bag of " soybeans " into milk before I realized they had inadvertantly ordered and sold me BLACK EYED PEAS!!!! So he was drinking black eyed pea milk! LOL The good part is that he was having no digestive upsets or allergy symptoms any longer. I was still concerned so I researched RAW goat milk. Bought a goat and learned to milk it with the idea that if it didn't work for him then my friend wanted the goat. Well, he did fabulous on it. So we alternated with the raw goat milk and black eyed pea milk as well as adding a very good vitamin and he thrived. We have found that he does well now at the age of 11 on raw cows milk too. Something about the natural enzymes. A child I was told that may not live a year and if he did would be a vegetable and never walk, is now in mainstream 5th grade and walking! He still has a genetic disorder and mild autism, but no retardation like I was told his prognosis was. I have raised all of my children birth children as well as my adopted son on raw goats milk. Guest guest
My stepdaughter was allergic to milk and mamma wouldn't nurse. So her father made her formula (he was raised vegan) Soy milk or goats milk, papaya, lecithin and black strap molassas. He also made all of her baby food fresh. She is now a healthy beautiful 12 yr old with gorgeous thick blonde hair. I can get the exact recipe for those that want totally natural formula.
