Guest guest
One of the things I've found will help most women with severe cramping. Wild yam cream 1/8 to 1/4 tsp rubbed on the abdomen during the day. I used to get horrible cramps that would literally put me in bed for the first 2 days of every cycle. Wild Yam stopped that. B complex, Calcium-magnesium complex and avoiding all dairy products and eggs during your cycle. Mineral supplements can also help. Herbal combination of Red Raspberry, Chamomile, Black Cohosh, Dong Quai, Licorice(IF you don't have high blodd pressure)and Parsley. Making sure your elimination systems are working properly and your drinking lots of pure water with the correct tension for your body. Guest guest
Hi Christian, not sure if this will help you, but I take magnesium a few days before my cycle starts, during and then a few days after. I now have no cramps, it's an absolute miracle worker. Hope it works for you Kristin in Australia On 1/16/07, Christian <christianadele wrote: > > I was wondering what I could do for heavy cramping during my cycle > every month. Guest guest
Christian, I feel for you. My cramps have been getting progressively worse as I get older. I have learned that PMS and it's symptoms are due to a spike in estrogen right before your menstruation starts. We are living in an estrogen-overloaded society, and it makes female matters worse! I have found relief with natural progesterone use. It balances out the estrogen, and now my period sneaks up on me without the week of feeling like I want to die. Be sure to limit you intake of estrogen as much as possible... no coffee, no caffeine, eat organic, watch the toxins in the products you use in and around your home. Some other tips for dealing with PMS naturally: * Discuss your situation with your physician. Work together to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Follow it! * If you smoke, quit. * Practice stress management: many of the symptoms of PMS are unpredictable and emotionally draining. This can be very stressful and can exacerbate your condition. * Regular exercise may reduce your risk of PMS altogether; exercising once you have symptoms (even though you may not feel like it) will reduce the symptoms you experience for that cycle; reduces stress and tension. * Take a daily, non-prescription multi-vitamin; discuss any other supplement needs with your physician. * Be sure to get an adequate daily intake of calcium (1,200 mg/day). * Additional magnesium, vitamins E and B6, and carbohydrate supplements might also be helpful. * Eat a well balanced diet; don't skip meals. * Reduce intake of caffeine, alcohol, refined sugar, and salt. * Enlist the support and understanding of friends and loved ones. Ask for understanding and help with tasks in advance to reduce stress and pressure * Try to get regular, sufficient sleep. * eat several small meals a day to minimize blood sugar fluctuations. * limit intake of sweets, salt, alcohol, caffeine, red meats, and other fatty foods. * increase time for activities that bring enjoyment * Use a natural progesterone cream to balance out your hormones. You can also use an herbal formula for menstrual cramps that contains some or all of the following herbs: cramp bark (Viburnum opulus), motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca), bleeding heart (Corydalis), wild yam (Dioscorea), skullcap, chamomile, blackhaw (Viburnum prunifolium). If your cramping occurs at a predictable time in your cycle, start using these herbs 2 to 4 days prior to the cramping. I have found that using Shepherd's Purse tincture works wonders for cramps. Take bioflavonoids to strengthen capillaries, 1,000 mg daily. Guest guest
Have you tried stretching and massage? I'm fortunate to not have much problem with cramps, but when I do, I stretch the front of my body every which way, and massage the belly. good luck Joy , " Christian " <christianadele wrote: > > I was wondering what I could do for heavy cramping during my cycle > every month. Guest guest
Hi Christian, There are several things that you can do. 1) detox in a bath 3 days in a row and then 1-2x's/week 2)acupuncture to balance the yin meridians 3)I used to use an acupressure Tx. on women with severe cramping. If done right, one Tx. will eliminate cramping for 4-6 months. Do it yourself or get someone to do this in you who knows acupressure or massage: Press on 2 points one inch to left and right of spine in upper region of the small of the back. It will be painful at first. Work on it for 5-10 minutes 1-2x's/day. You can also get a Niken magnetic roller to work on the area. Magnets or tachion stones on the back will help. And magnetic insoles in shoes help too. Check with your doctor and make sure nothing more serious is going on. Guest guest
I got rid of almost all my period problem with EFT (www.emofree.com). Magnets work for most people with severe problems. That worked for me quite well but only if I got it on my belly at the right time. If I was too late, it didn't work. You can use a large magnet on the lower spine or use it on the belly. Guest guest
There are a lot of good ways for relieving cramps replied here, I too have severe cramping and I can tell you that exercise like walking helps alot, plus those heat patches, and eating yogurt. I also have fibromialgia and I am a C.N.A. and a med-tech and I work hard, fast, with a lot of lifting and a lot of stress and I can't miss a week of work every month so that's what I do. I did learn that chamomile is an anticoagulant but I didn't learn this til I was enjoying a cup everyday and my period lasted everyday and that was a month! For real, it took me that long to figure it out! So go easy on it. Lisa Christian <christianadele wrote: I was wondering what I could do for heavy cramping during my cycle every month. My cramping is so bad that I was given the Rx for tylenol3 as a teenager. I will not take it now instead I suffer with the full blown symptoms. It's just getting harder the older I get. I am doubled over in pain from the sec I start for a solid 48hrs. I know not a long time but the only way to explain the pain is like giving birth and you are sitting at 8 or 9. I get very sick to my stomach, lite headed, my back feels like its going to break and I cramp so bad that I will actually be brought to tears. Any suggestions? Thank you, Christian Lisa M.
