I have a friend who has had this since he was 20yrs. old, now 49.

He continues to get breakouts about once a year, and every Dr. has

ignored, why he continues to get them. He should be immuned to them

after the first breakout. He never had the chicken pox, measles, or

mumps as a child, and I'm wondering, if this has anything to do with

this. Can anyone, help me with info or alternative route for a natural

remedy?

Suzi, I had one after a trip to Greece. When it became two, I was alarmed

and went to an old family doctor. He numbed and then incised it with a

scalpel that looks like an X-acto knife, and squeezed out the parasite, and

then

disinfected the site and covered with a bandaid to heal. He said that was the

only way to get rid of them and they can spread all over the body.

Hope this helps

Dear Suzi

The name " Moluscum " is actually a misnomer, as it is not in fact a

mollusc, but rather a viral infection. When it occurs in adults, it is

usually because the immune system is compromised. It is very

contagious and can be passed via sexual contact, especially if there

is a breach in the skin, for example from shaving, thus he should not

shave that area and refrain from sexual activity when there is an

outbreak. From a homeopathic perspective, it is very important not to

treat the skin but rather treat the compromised immune system with the

correct individualistic homeopathic remedy. In stubborn cases, I have

found that it is helpful to remove the center of each lesion, while

giving the homeopathic remedy. This process can be painful and bloody.

I'm not certain as to why this is effective, considering it is a viral

infection, however it appears to be beneficial. In very stubborn

cases, I have given the homeopathic " Molluscum contagiosum " nosode, (a

homeopathic remedy made from the virus) however it is much better for

the patient's overall health to find the individualistic homeopathic

remedy.

Jenny Kernan,

Thanks for the recommendation(s).

However, using all of those ingredients would obviously cost hundreds of

dollars, maybe per month, and skills to mix and/ or prepare them for

use, as well as lots of time. I made the post to find solutions for my

77 Y.O. Mom, who is limited in her energies and the such, and would

never be able to put all of that effort into what you suggest she take!

Moreover, how can I Explain to her that those ingredients are even GOOD

for her? Is there any accompanying literature/articles that show these

specific ingredients will help? And, more importantly, is there an

" Pre-Formulated " Mix of these ingredients to be had?

It's very easy for someone with a Degree and 20 years experience and who

is well funded to suggest these things, another to practically have a 77

Y.O. Woman on Social Security to DO It! And I live an hour away from

her, so I cannot regularly help her on a day to day basis. She has

Medicare, Medicaid and Supplemental AARP Insurance, but NONE of those

things pays anything for " Alternative " Medicine or Supplements! And

using dozens of supplements mixed together, none of which a person knows

what they do, isn't realistic to expect for my Mother to do, or be ABLE

to do!

But thanks for your time in replying!

Thankyou for very much for your responses. Does anyone know why he is

not fighting off the anti bodies of Molluscum. He always has atleast

one small one on his body, and has breakouts one or twice a year.

Could this be his immune system? How can he build his immune system up?

This is a man I care for deeply, and he's concerned I will catch this.

How can we get to the bottom of this? Many Dermatologist, have no

answers.

Thankyou,

Suzi

With my daughter we use Dr. Christophers comphrey ointment. I have

been told that there is a viral spray I can use under my daughters

armpits (she is 2) but I have yet to take the time and look. If

anyone knows what I'm talking about it is supposed to be wonderful

for viral things like this. Ien or anyone else out there familiar

with something like this please let me know. thanks!

Molluscum is related to the " pox " virus. So in theory, one should create an

immunity to it. From what I have heard it is only the liquid from the pox

themself that spread this disease. So I would not share towels, clothing and

always wash your hands with soap and hot water. Interestingly enough tea tree

oil (the pure stuff) helps reduce the spread of it. I also recently purchased

the " silver cure " but do not know how or if that will work. Iodine also works,

but remember iodine CANNOT be ingested.
