I need help....I grind my teeth at night, and yesterday I woke with a loose

back molar(this does happen ocassionally but it tightens by the end of the

day) By last night my tooth and gum was so sore I couldn't eat, when I woke

this

morning, my jaw and neck are swollen and the teeth on the right side are

tender>

Any ideas what I can rinse/take to help with this problem?

Linda,

You can purchase a sports mouth-guard for just a couple dollars and wear

that while sleeping. Works wonderful. Certainly cheaper than one custom made

from a dentist for $300 - $500.

Also, magnesium supplementation worked for me to curb anxiety. Some Bach

Flower Essence formulations work too. No rinse that I'm aware of is going to

stop internal reasons why people grind their teeth at night.

I don't know about rinses or anything like that, but a dentist can

make/give you an appliance to use in your mouth to keep you from

grinding your teeth in your sleep. Have no idea how much they may

cost...sorry.

Hello again,

Thank you all for your suggestions, I am going to purchase a mouth guard

tomorrow. I asked about a rinse becasue of the inflamation that I have today.

The grinding problem has been on and off for years but I never had swelling

or inflamation that lasted longer then a few hours after waking, it has been

almost 24 hours of pain now.

Hi Linda,

Aloe vera, witch hazel or tea tree oil formulations from your

health food store may help counteract the soreness. Other than that,

have you had your blood pressure checked recently? I am aware of

several people whom have had similar problems in the past who were

on high blood pressure medications. I believe this is an indication

of extremely high stress levels!

Cheers, JoAnn
