Hey folks,

 

I am headed off tomorrow on a speaker's tour in Washington and Oregon.

If anyone knows folks who might be interested in attending any of the

events you see below, please pass along the info. This is an exciting

time to be in the US talking about CAFTA - it seems we have a very

good chance of actually defeating CAFTA in Congress, especially if we

all take the time in the next few weeks to contact our representatives

and senators. I will also send along an action alert that you can

forward to people.

Speaker Tour

April 8-23, 2005

 

Featuring Ivonne Jiron Gaitan and Melissa Fridlin

Ivonne Jiron Gaitan, a maquila supervisor and union organizer from

Nicaragua, and Melissa Fridlin, a Witness for Peace International Team

member in Nicaragua, will address the cycles of military and economic

violence in Nicaragua. Their presentations will focus on US policies

toward Nicaragua and the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA)

in particular.
