[Air_America_Radio] EPA Testing Pesticides on Babies

Just when you thought the Bush regime could get no creepier...

Short version: The EPA had a program for testing pesticides on babies

in low income families in Florida, but stopped due to public outcry

last year. Wednesday Barbara Boxer asked EPA nominee-in-chief Stephen

L. Johnson to promise to NOT resume the program. He refused. She

threatened to hold up his nomination.

See the New York Times article below, or at:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/07/politics/07enviro.html

I also caught some of Boxer's comments on this on Ed Schultz last

night. She said we know enough about how pollution affects kids that

the government should be warning parents NOT to expose babies to

pesticides--instead of paying them to do it.

BTW, catch the name of the program, Children's Environmental Exposure

Research Study, or Cheers!

Yikes!
