Facing Reality

 

 

The neo-cons of the Bush regime openly advocate for what we

veteran activists have known for a long time--the US government has

pretentions of world empire and pursues a policy of imperial

intervention and forward bases world-wide --to keep the local

" Indians' in their stations on the reservation.

 

There is no surer way to get Uncle's attention than to use

your local country's resources for promoting equal access medicine,

education or real developement in your 3rd world country--rather than

supporting profit flows to US global corporations. The ears of the

World Bank ,the IMF, the CIA and the Pentagon will perk up if you try

to oppose an Enron-type corporation's take-over of your nation's

water, sewage, or petroleum distribution system. Public ownership of

your own resources or utilities by a 3rd world nation is strickly

forbidden in this mindset. If CIA funded coups don't work there is

always military intervention so as to " restore " or

install " democracy " . The corporate theologists at the universities

have " improved " and " distilled " the ancient Greek/ French philosophe

notion of democracy to mean the self-rule of global corporations

completely devoid of the bothersome meddling of government or input

by the population--democracy has come to mean " pluralism " .

 

We veterans must quit pretending that what we have been doing

for our Uncle is anything other than providing the storm troopers for

the corporations who run our lives--and now want to expand this

system to the entire world in the New American Century version of

reality being sold by the neo-cons of the Busheich. This corporate

mindset has largely ruled American foreign policy anyway since

World War II, but it is now OPENLY presented by the corporate elite

as the holy grail for US for the neo-con/global corporate Crusade

now being waged on the world. This policy is the continuation of

the Indian wars and the Mexican war. It is an extension of the

Monroe Doctrine to the entire world; the US has the right to

determine what " democracy " is (ie " pluralism " ), and to intervene at

will in all other countries domestic and foreign affairs. Distill

out what is going on and our military has virtually nothing to do

with " national defense " . What we do is work for our Uncle in

establishing the world neo-con/ global corporation empire.

 

While this is going on, the neo-con/ global corps have decided

to out-source nearly all above minimum wage jobs to their overseas

industrial " plantations " --from the border of Mexico, to Eastern

Europe to China. They support unlimited illegal immigration to wage

war on whats left of union-scale jobs here in the US.

This " capitalism " wants nothing more than to " export " capital as

fast as it can. This " capitalism " takes 91% of all welfare payments

issued by Uncle, which is a remarkable transfer of wealth from those

lucky enough to still be employed, or from those companies dedicated

to producing here in the US and providing US jobs--to those global

corps who want to produce nothing at all here. Without fox news

or the Washington Times ever even editorialzing, capitalism has

become corporate communism. From this perspective what the neo-con

global corps/ military-industrial-complex is doing ENDANGERS our

security. It couldn't be worse if Osama was Wolfovitz's boss.

 

Many of the veterans of this corporate crusade for empire

never receive compensation for disabling injuries suffered. We

receive untested vaccinations, are routinely stiffed out of

unemployment benefits , educational benefits--and now even have to pay

back combat pay when wounded. Since World War II we were routinely

sent into ground zero situations after nuclear tests so as to merely

serve as a control group for the study of the effects of radiation.

Routinely GI's are thought of as cheap expendable cannon fodder or

lab rats. I used to inventory WMD's including nukes, germs, and

chemicals--if I came back it was assumed that containers were not

leaking. Like the cancer-inducing food additives and prescription

meds sold by the global drug corps , agent orange and other agents

are introduced with no or contrived testing by Uncle. Althouigh

the results of depleted uranium in the environment have been known

for decades the Pentagon introduced the stuff as a cheap way to

get rid of global corp toxic waste while busting up hardened targets

on the cheap. A very lame " study " reminicent of global drug corps

propaganda found no health problems. A radiation-induced pandemic of

unprecedented proportions is now visiting deformities and early death

to the population of Iraq and the GI's sent there by their uncle.

 

It is increasingly clear what the real threat to national

security is--the continued rule of and by the corporate crusaders.

After the last 2 elections even the control of the ballot boxes has

now been awarded to the very global corps who want to de-capitalize

and de-industrialize America. With the back-door draft now providing

half of Uncle's storm troopers it is abundantly clear that the US

military are mercenary soldiers crusading for the global empire

of privatized dictatorships (ie global corporations). We must quit

pretending we are citizen-soldiers and realize what we realy are.

In short from practically every aspect the neo-con interests are

contrary to our own interests. It is time for a union. I don't want

to hear that lame old propaganda line about " national security " and

the " special status " about citizen-soldiering. It is time for

democratic input in the military over the conditions of their

employment/ servitude. It is time for a real system of compensation

for veterans instead of the present system of cronyism where right-

wing vets who spew the neo-con line get benefits while the rest get

the shaft.
