On that day, communities across the country will commemorate the loss of life in Iraq and call for the United States to bring the troops home now. These " Stand for Peace " events vary by community—ranging from candlelight vigils to prayer services to creating community memorials to honor the dead. With more than 100 events registered already on our website, Stand for Peace events complement other community vigils, rallies, and memorials sponsored by community groups and our coalition partner, United for Peace and Justice. Join or organize an event in your community: http://www.afsc.org/standforpeace/ These events are also a great time for you to help us gather names for the Iraq Peace Petition.
