Guest guest
Legislative Action Message FCNL: Join Call in Days on Budget Priorities The House and Senate will be debating their respective budget resolutions the week of March 14. Please contact your representative and senators now. Urge them to vote against the budget resolutions as approved by their Budget Committees. The budget should not be balanced on the backs of the poor and the most vulnerable while the wealthiest receive more tax cuts and while the military receives another half trillion dollar blank check. Urge your legislators to support budget priorities that meet human needs and reduce the deficit by cutting wasteful, unnecessary military spending and rolling back tax cuts for the wealthiest. Urge them to protect low-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities by opposing cuts in Medicaid, nutrition, education, and other vital services. Those who have prospered the most in our country can afford the cost of reducing the deficit far better than the millions of families who are struggling to find quality, affordable housing, childcare, and healthcare. Our country can and should do better to meet basic human needs.
