Guest guest
Thanks for your concern. Actually I am treating my son along with my psychiatrist friend. But the psychiatrist is not interested in knowing what treatment I give to my son. I mainly give the EPA and DHA and GLA. I also give minerals including selenium and Magnesium and Calcium. I also advise him to take high animal-protein diet as he is O blood group type and, in any case, through this diet he can get tyrosine and phenylalanine that he needs to counter his depression when he is in the depressed phase of bipolar. On the whole, past three years, his psychiatric diagnoses have changed from Schiz to schizoaffective to depression to bipolar. Now, lately, his depression bouts have shortened to about five days and his normal (mild hypomanic?) days have lengthened to two weeks. He easily wins prizes and is regular in classes when in hypomania. Its possible that things I am giving him are helping him in bipolar or it was a case of cerebral allergic reaction to marijuana causing all kinds of behaviors. I have been testing his cognitive functions. They are in top quarteil. Lately I suspect on subjective clinical ground that his memory for recent events is affected. This may be due to the anti-depressant he had to take for long. The psychiatrist had put him on SSRI for long without effect. He then changed it to SNRI. Talking of marijuana: It has two components: Cannabinoid and (THC)Tetra Hydro- Cannabenol (spelling?). The Cannabinoid is 20 times more potent anti-oxidant than ascorbic acid. The Israeli scientists had isolated it away from the THC in anticipation of nuclear missile attack by Saddam Hussain before the Iraq war to protect the Israel soldiers. It is the THC that is neuroleptic and harmful. Imagine what a psychiatric neuro- leptic can do to a normal person when taken for long. Regards. Ratan. ------------- RATAN; I noticed your lengthy credentials at the bottom of your post. If your son was one of your clients, what would your treatment plan consist of??? Have you ever seen his test results and consulted with the psychologists/psychiatrists who performed these, using your own extensive knowledge and applying it to your son's case?? ----------------- Ratan Singh M.A. (Psychol), Postgraduate Diploma in Medical & Social Psychology, Ph.D. Certified Behavior Therapist (from late Prof. J.
