ADHD and Kinesiology -Marianne

Marianne,

Here are some links about natural treatments regarding ADHD. I added

the phenol and the yeast link at the bottom, because both can cause

problems. Some people believe that ADHD is on the mild end of the

Autism Spectrum Disorder.

ADHD or mild autism can produce

allergies/food intolerances, vitamin deficiencies, as well as brain

chemical deficiencies/reactions that trigger reactions in the

children.

I would recommend that if your friend could afford it, to

take her child to a holistic health practitioner that practices

kinesiology. Then, the treatment would be specific to the child. And

she wouldn't have to try things by trial and error.

All of the previous recommendations have been on the mark. My son has

ADHD tendencies. I personally believe that they were caused by

vaccines.

After a lot of researching and agonizing, we no longer

vaccinate. I realize that she may not have that option. A good book

with suggestions on how to lower vaccine risk is " Vaccinations: A

Thoughtful Parent's Guide " , by Aviva Jill Romm.

Decreasing sugar, the bad fatty acids, food colorings, phenols (in a

lot of fruits and vegetables), dairy products, and gluten products

could help alot.

Joma takes extra fatty acids, vitamin C, a magnesium

and calcium supplement and a supplement called Be Calm'd.

I know that

the extra fatty acids and the Be Calm'd help a lot...I can tell if he

misses a few days.

I personally don't think that ritalin and drugs are the way to go

(unless a serious commitment to natural means have been tried and

failed).

That is why I recommended a kinesiologist tailor the child's

specific food allergies/intolerances, vitamin deficiencies, etc.

If an

autistic child has a food infraction, they can have a reaction up to

72 hours later. So sometimes, it can be very difficult to go by a

" trial and error " method of trying things.

Good luck!

hugs!

Cindy
