Christopher Pittman, 12, was under the influence of Zoloft which prevented him from knowing right from wrong when he shot his grandparents dead and set their house on fire. Now, three years later, with LOTS of help given to the prosecution by Pfizer, the makers of Zoloft, Christopher has been convicted of murder and given 30 years. (You can find more on Christopher's case posted on the web site of Vickery & Waldner, LLP, the law firm defending Christopher, at: www.justiceseekers.com.) The family and all those involved in this case want to thank you for your prayers in Christopher's behalf. Now we ask all of you to please write letters to the governor of South Carolina and President George Bush asking that they issue a pardon for this child. The addresses are listed below: www.whitehouse.gov/contact Mailing Address: Pres. George W. Bush The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500 Phone Numbers: Comments: 202-456-1111 Switchboard: 202-456-1414 FAX: 202-456-2461 Governor Mark Sanford Office of the Governor P.O. Box 12267 Columbia, SC 29211 Fax: 803-734-5167 You may also contact the Governor's Office at 803-734-2100, or send the Governor an e-mail by filling out the form found at: www.scgovernor.com/Contact.asp?sitecontentid=33 Knowing what we know about the strong mind altering effects of SSRI antidepressants, especially upon a child, it is clear to us that this is a travesty of justice. I called the Pittman family when this happened knowing full well that due to his reactions Christopher must have been taking one of these antidepressants. That call was little different than the one I had made several years before to the family of comedian Phil Hartman and his wife Brynn when they died in a terrible Zoloft-induced murder/suicide. That wrongful death case has since been settled by the makers of Zoloft. According to Mark Miller, our KS director whose case was recently turned down by the Supreme Court, " Christopher learned today that justice in America is not only blind, but deaf and dumb as well. " So often I have stated that if we had the same today's attitude toward drugs in this country back in the 60's when LSD was introduced as a " miracle cure " that drug would still be on the market. This case has certainly brought the reality of this lack of education about drugs and what they can do home to me today.
