SENATE BILL S. 3 COVERAGE ON AUTISM ONE RADIO From Sheri Nakken via AVN: SPECIAL EVENT AUTISM ONE RADIO www.autismone.org/radio Friday, February 11, 2005 1:40 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. EST SENATE BILL S. 3: The Protecting America in the War on Terror Act of 2005 What does this Bill mean to children with autism? Their families? The rights of Americans? Here are some key points to S.3. Keep in mind that because this is a VICA/Vaccine Bill introduced under the guise of thwarting terrorist threats, there is language to sway potential supporters. For example, S.3 raises the death benefit for families of fallen soldiers. This, of course, is needed, but it has nothing to do with our children! - S.3 preempts state legislation on vaccines and more. - S.3 effectively repeals CA and IA mercury-ban bills and stops others in their tracks. - S.3 prevents states from even warning people about, for example, thimerosal. - S.3 gives pharmas a defense to claims if the FDA approved their drug or vaccine (in other words, more fighting power to stop our claims). - S.3 implements caps of $250 K on non-economic damages, and no punitives - S.3 controls regulation of vaccine safety and restricts access to information (in other words, sealing documents that contain valuable information about our children's illness). Please tune in and learn the issues about Senate Bill S. 3 and LEARN HOW YOU CAN HELP. Speakers include: Laura Bono and Scott Bono of the National Autism Association Board ofs; Lujene Clark, president of NoMercury; Beth Clay, former professional staff member for the Committee on Government Reform, who led the healthcare oversight activities for Chairman Burton for 5 years, and who is now president of B C & A International, a consulting and government relations firm that works on these issues; Barbara Loe Fisher, president, and Kathi Williams, vice-president, of the NVIC; Robert J. Krakow, attorney-at-law, and member of the Board of Directors of SafeMinds and the National Autism Association; Bobbie Manning, press liaison for Autism One; Lyn Redwood, president of SafeMinds; and Jeff Sell, attorney-at-law, 2nd vice-chairman of the Autism Society of America and the chairman of ASA's Government Relation Committee. www.autismone.org/radio Friday, February 11, 2005, 1:40 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. EST Sandy Gottstein (Mintz) PO Box 111818 Anchorage, AK 99511-1818 http://www.vaccinationnews.com/ http://www.vaccinationnews.com/Scandals/past_scandals.htm http://www.vaccinationnews.com/Out_of_Control/past_ool.htm SPONSOR OF SBS, VACCINES, AUTISM and other ONLINE CONFERENCES AT http://www.redflagsdaily.com " Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
