Guest guest
CELL CARRIERS CALL IN THEIR CHITS We hear much oohing and aahing about what a decisive and businesslike governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has turned out to be. That's great ... if you're a business. Take the struggling little cell phone companies -- you know, Verizon, Cingular, Sprint. Why, they were being strangled by the odious consumer measures enacted by the namby-pamby Gray Davis administration, which let consumers get by with murder -- like giving them 30 days to cancel their cell phone contract if the phone didn't work in their home or office. The Terminator has put a stop to that anti-business nonsense. Despite the whining of the state's attorney general and all 58 of its girly-men district attorneys, the governor's appointees to the Public Utilities Commission scrapped the Telecommunications Consumer Bill of Rights, http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2005/cpuc_wireless.html making the streets once again safe for cell phone companies.
