Hello to you all. My name is Rick.

The Owner of this club is my Father-in-law Poet. You all knew him as

thepoetskiss.

Earlier last night on January 10, at 7:34 pm, Poet made his passage

from this life to the other. I am sure you all would want to know

how he died, but please allow me to let you know how he lived.

As I write this post it is late so my line of thought might be a bit

sketchy so please bear with me.

I met Poet of course through my wife, his daughter. I was honored and

privileged to have him present her hand to me in our wedding

ceremony. He looked to me, his eyes glistened with tears, and he

placed his little girl's hand in mine, and gave her to me. He loved

his children and his grandchildren and even accepted my children from

a previous relationship as if they were his own blood. As most of

you might know, he was a lover of life, a lover of truth, whether it

be the discovery of truth, or of the telling of it.

He is survived by his wife, his 31 year old daughter, his 28 year old

son, grandchildren Nicholas, Mary, Kane, and Benjamin who were all in

attendance to see him off for his journey.

Poet was a lover of music… one of the things we disagreed most with.

I am young and am more in to more aggressive music, where as Poet was

an old country boy. We both played guitar and I remember being

humbled a bit when he told me that " you can make your guitar scream

son - but I can make mine sing like an angel " .

What do you say to something like that? LOL

And as this group shows, he is a persistent advocate for the truth

He does not like doctors, but then who really does?

As I watched him go in to his next life, I looked around. The people

in the room all letting him know how much he was loved…..And he still

is…. I hope when my time comes, that I have such a feeling in the

room when I pass.

Poet didn't live a rich life. There were always financial struggles,

there was always bills too; there was almost never a break

But looking around the room when he passed… I would have to say,

that he was one of the richest people I have ever known. To have so

many people love you and care for you is an amazing thing

Poet had a hell of a sense of humor. There would be many a time where

him and I would talk - Either about music, or politics, or simply

chat about anything. We would bounce jokes back and forth from one

person to the other.

I am going to miss those conversations!

There were times where Poet and I would butt heads, but when you

have two men who have control issues - what do you expect?

In the end, we all were able to give him the one thing he needed

when it was time -

To be there, to be with him, to allow him to begin his journey.

I owe the man everything I have today… with out him I would have

never met his daughter, I would never have my son Benjamin, and my

life would be quite empty and bleak……….

And now, with out him here, there is a hole in all of our hearts

Bless you Poet

You changed all of our lives deeply.
