Guest guest
Dear Michelle, Please allow me this opportunity to apologize as my thoughts were not intended to diminish your humanitarian efforts for those in need as a result of the natural disaster in Indonesia. I very much appreciate your efforts. I just wish Americans would be as concerned for lives lost as a result of intentional genocide as we are about unintentional genocide. Where there is a natural disaster such as this there is much attention to helping them and media coverage to illicit empathy. The military disaster would not be supported as well or as long with public opinion if the holocaust there were as publisized with pictures as are the earthquate victims. Likewise, I do no recall one disaster relief e-mail such as your valient efforts to help those in need on the other side of the world in Indonesia coming in for relief in Iraq. My efforts are spend in doing what I can to end the War on Iraq. Just think how much relief we could send to Indonesia if the $5.8 million we are spending to destroy Iraq could be diverted to more humanitarian efforts from the taxes that have already be extracted from the people so that we wouldn't have to scrape up what we could from after tax dollars to send in donations? And what about this idea? How about Halliburton and those other corporations that are making millions from the War on Iraq being solicited by you to make a sizable donation to your efforts to raise funds for Indonesia. If you'll get me their phone number I'll call them first thing Monday morning. Thank you again so very, very much and again, please accept my apology. Under no circumstances did I want to discredit your highly aplaudible efforts. Sincerely, Dr. Sandra Lance, D.C. ************************************************* Sandra, Have you attempted to donate money, clothing, food, supplies and NOT found an agency to accept them? Have you adopted a family or two in Iraq? As I'm sure you know, the focus of my post was on ways that we can offer support to those in crisis in Indonesia. It was in no way intended to justify a senseless war, to slight the needs of those in Iraq, to ignore the sick, hungry and homeless right here in America or to invalidate the millions of other people in desperate need all over the planet. Guest guest
Thank you Sandra. Your note is appreciated. I'm sure you've visited: http://www.costofwar.com My husband was in Vietnam. We clearly recognize the war in Iraq. Michelle
