Why The Vitamin Companies Aren't Coming to Their Own Defense:

They're Being Led to the Cliff from Within

I'm sending this in response to a message left on the IAHF answering

machine today. Someone who's sister is a chiropractor called to inform me

that we " shouldn't be appealing to the grass roots and to practitioners

for donations to fight this Codex battle, we should be making our pitch

to the vitamin companies. "

 

We ARE, and will CONTINUE to, but you must all awaken to our political

REALITY which is that Big Pharma's tentacles reach deeply into the

vitamin trade associations and MASSIVE spin has been done against our

message.

 

To give a CURRENT EXAMPLE: A huge number of American vitamin companies

and health food stores are members of a trade association called NNFA

(National Nutritional Foods Assn).

 

NNFA just published a spin piece against our message in NNFA Today-

November/December 2004 issue. The spin piece is titled " International

Natural Products Regulations Q & A: What Effect Do They Really Have

on the

U.S.? " In this spin piece they ask bad questions in order to erect

" straw man " arguments which they proceed to " knock down " thus " proving "

that Codex is a " non issue " and " don't worry, NNFA is handling

things. " (I

was sent a PDF file of this piece by someone on the IAHF list, its not

on the web.)

The spin piece against us was generated by NNFA's legal counsel which

is Sidley Austin Brown & Wood, LLP (a huge multinational law firm with

offices on 3 continents which has numerous pharmaceutical companies as

clients as they state on their own website:

I've been trying (in vain) for several years to warn members of NNFA

that they're being led to the cliff from within, and that they should

file FRAUD charges against their trade association but they're too busy

making money to pay any attention and they're not going to start paying

attention now which leaves me with no CHOICE but to appeal to the grass

roots and to alternative practitioners for assistance. Dr.Whitaker and

Dr.Wright understand this.

 

NNFA also belongs to IADSA (International Alliance of Dietary

Supplement Associations) which I began exposing years ago as a controlled

opposition group thats only going through the MOTIONS of " defending " the

supplement industry- see

We're all going to be TWISTING IN THE WIND if ANH fails to get the

donations they need for the PR campaign they're conducting now to back

the

submission on Nutrient Risk Assessment they just made to the World

Health Organization which is filling in the blanks on allowable potency

levels at CODEX.

 

We're all going to be TWISTING IN THE WIND if ANH fails to get the

funds they need to pay their lawyers, and they'll be in court on JANUARY

25th in a bid to overturn the EU Food Supplement Directive.

 

We have not given up approaching vitamin companies, but consumers and

alternative practitioners desiring to maintain access to supplements

have NO CHOICE but to recognize that our POLITICAL REALITY is that

Pharma's tentacles reach very DEEPLY into the dietary supplement industry

making it EXCEEDINGLY DIFFICULT for those of us on the front lines to get

our message across to them and THAT is why we created the Emergency DVD

of our health freedom meeting in San Diego.

 

But don't think you're helping much by sending just the $15. we're

asking for the DVD. We might not even break even on the production cost.

 

We're making it available CHEAPLY in order to get the word out as FAST

AS POSSIBLE, but unless we see some substantial monthly donations,

we're DEAD.
