Guest guest
Hi Folks! In Vancouver, B.C., alerts are going out to the gay men's community, concerning a bacterial meningitis. Apparently, there have been 18 cases during 2004. Is that proportionately enough to instill panic? The alert is coming from a number of community groups, the originating message comes from the C.D.C. in our Province. I am very concerned, when a minority group is targeted, with communications designed to panic people, with free vaccinations as part of the package. I have had phone calls, and emails galore, and expect to see postings in our local gay paper, as well as ongoing urgings of 'health minded' organizations. " Everyone get out there and protect yourself. The only way is vaccination! " There is plenty of damning evidence that the hepatitis-B vaccine, targeting gay men, was responsible for spreading AIDS (complemented to the vaccine intentionally). Of course, that is only conspiracy theory, right? -- that is until the evidence is viewed (Len Horowitz and Boyd Graves books). I have not yet seen alerts for heterosexuals in Vancouver, concerning this meningitis, who surely must have the same risk. There was a recent attempt by media to panic people about flu vaccine shortages--which did not exist in Canada. The Minister of Health had to announce there was no shortage. I am hoping there is someone, who will post something in response that I can pass along. I tell people that vaccines are not risk-free, they contain toxic materials, and may not have demonstrated effectiveness. It fazes no one so far. All are determined to 'protect' themselves from the latest scare. Steve
