Peace Through Peaceful Means, and Justice Through Just Policy

The election is over. The war in Iraq is not. And neither is FCNL’s commitment

to bring your concerns for peace and justice to the halls of power in Congress

and at the White House. Your gifts for peace this season will help open FCNL's

door to opportunities on Capitol Hill next year.

FCNL is hard at work preparing for the opening of the 109th Congress. Every

session of Congress brings new opportunities and a fresh chance to influence

policymakers. We’re depending on your support, and you can DONATE NOW

(http://www.fcnl.org/suprt/indx.htm).

Your gift will help FCNL:

to expand our work to end the war in Iraq;

to advance SMART security strategy (Sensible, Multilateral, American

Responses to Terrorism) in Congress, the peaceful prevention of deadly conflict;

to challenge the dangerous, ineffective, backfiring policies called the

“global war on terror;”

to honor the promises to Native Americans – promises broken time and again by

the federal government’s misdeeds and military conquests;

to protect our civil liberties which are threatened now by fearful and timid

legislators;

to promote new U.S. energy policy, to shift from dependence on oil to

sustainable resources;

to hold our federal officials accountable to the rule of law and standards of

decency when they allow torture and lawless conduct that shames our country;

to support courageous members of Congress who say no to new useable nuclear

weapons; and

if needed, to mobilize opposition to a new military draft.

Actions for Peace and Justice You Can Take Today

We seek a world free of war and the threat of war

We seek a society with equity and justice for all

We seek a community where every person's potential may be fulfilled

We seek an earth restored.
