Treating Ulcerative Colitis Questions

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, Pan Colitis, and Deep Vein

Thrombosis recently. What I believed what possibly caused the colitis was my

long-term drining of diet carbonated sodas, esp. diet Coke, taking Motrin for

arthritis and Aspirin to prevent stroke. I am 66 yo and other than the

arthritis, never had any health issues. I do not drink any alcohol, I do not

smoke anything, I do not take any other types of supplements. My eyesight is

excellent, almost 20/20 for my age.

The doctors have prescribed some heavy duty medications I am very concerned

about. For the colitis I just completed Prednisone, and am now on Colazol,

which has major side effects, such as diarrhea, headaches, arthralgia,

dizziness, fatigue, bronchial infections, and the list goes on.

I am unable to take blood thinners due for the deep vein thrombosis, or blood

clot because of the UC and bleeding tendencies.

The doctors are not into nutrition, nor are they into vitamins and herbs.

Nor do they have time to answer questions about my newly-diagnosed

diseases.

Are there any foods that help with both UC and blood clots? I did some

research online and found out that peppers are good as blood thinners and

broccoli is also good. Perhaps some members here in Alternative Medicine

would be kind enough to recommend options for this? I am basically

homebound with the colitis due to need to be near bathroom which is

miserable. My wife and family must take over much of my responsibilities

which I feel badly about.

Thank you for your consideration,

Tim
