Dear Nancy:

I have used the Neti pot to prevent sinititus and to treat it's symptoms for

about 5 years. When heavy mold or pollens are blowing in (all normal

seasonal occurances here in the central texas hill country), I pull out my

handy little pot and mix up something intuitively. My mix always starts

with warm distilled water with a small sea-salt base. If I feel that I am

coming down with a viral thingy, I use 1 or 2 drops of collidial silver,

same with tea-tree oil or neem oil, and a few drops of Perelandra Immune

essence. If I am already stopped up and congested, that calls for stronger

measures oftener. I can now tolerate a few drops of cayenne pepper to

handle a cold, or if my nose is too sensitive for the big guns, a drop or

two of grapeseed extract (which is also very powerful to the mucosa! or

maybe the right word is intense).. Anyhow it hurts like hell at first, then

quickly subsides and there is almost instant opening and healing. I think

the best way to start is to just plain warm salt water, and add a pinch of

soda if the mucosa is irritated. Slowly learn your technique of closing one

nostril and snorting the solution up the other, and then gently blowing the

solution back out. Then reverse the nostril. Repeating several times

until you feel that is enough for now. Repeat in two hours, or only do

it 3 times a day, depending on need. Granted, for we prissy Americans, it

is a rather noisey messy affair and you may want your privacy till you know

what you are doing! My family made all kinds of fun of me when I first

started. But the results have proven the worthiness of this ancient

remedy, and they all now have their own neti pots and harange their friends

when they start with the sneezing and runny noses!

May you stay well,

Norma Pirie
