Guest guest
Hello. I just joined the group and am hoping I might find some answers here. Having tried innumerable medications for OCD and depression, I've started trying alternatives. The SAM-e has made a tremendous difference in my depression, but the OCD is still pretty bad. I'm currently trying Inositol. Just wondering if anyone else has had any experieence with Inositol--especially in relation to treating OCD. How much did you take? How long before you noticed a difference? How many times a day did you take it? I'd also love to hear what other supplements might benefit an OCD sufferer. GABA? Glutathione? L-theanine? Taurine? Lecithin? (Though unfortunately, I am allergic to soy.) I'm also curious about 5-HTP. I'm currently taking fish oil (any amounts to recommend?), calcium, magnesium, and a B-50 complex (in addition to a multi-vitamin). Any particular B-vitamin that maybe I should take more of? Any B vitamins to avoid? (I've seen conflicting reports on the various B- vitamins.) Also, I've read that choline is bad for OCD, but most B- complexes contain it. Are there any particular supplements like choline (if that is indeed the case) that should be avoided? Also, any particular suggestions to follow in regards to taking any supplements? I never thought twice about taking the calcium and magnesium and the fish oil at the same time, but I recently came across something that suggested fish oil should not be taken at the same as minerals because they impair absorption. I would just love any suggestions / feedback. Thanks.
