Dear Friend:

 

In September, I asked Californians to give me their ideas

about

health care in America and the steps Congress should take

to

help Americans better secure health care services. The

response to my request was remarkable. More than 20,000

Californians filled out the survey, and many also sent

detailed

ideas. I thank everyone who participated.

 

Just as extraordinary as the number of people responding

was

the strength of belief about the need for health care

reform.

By overwhelming margins, Californians replied that the

federal

government should help those without insurance, that health

insurance premiums should be tax deductible, that every

American should be able to buy the insurance coverage that

all

federal employees can purchase, and that Medicare should be

given authority to negotiate for better drug prices. You

As we begin a new Congress next year, you can count on me

to

fight for better and greater access to health care for all

Americans. I encourage you to check out the results of my
