Guest guest
Message " Let the breathing corpse go. " Well Jack, From this e-mail when she makes facial gestures that she knew it was her Father's birthday that doesn't sound like brain dead. IF the parents are willing to take care of her and the husband that has two children and is living with his " fiance " wants her dead, there are questions about his possible abuse causing the brain injury, and she has a Constitution right to " life " why shouldn't the parents be able to keep their daugher alive. There was no written directive to disconnect life support. This case may set a presidence for other Americans to be denied life saving medical support. I'm not on the jury and I haven't seen all the evidence. But who are we to say she shouldn't be allowed to live because medical persons have made a diagnoses that she is brain dead and her " husband " wants her dead after not spending the settlement on her health care but mostly on legal expenses to have her " put to sleep " . I'm not quite ready to treat humans like dogs. And I'm not looking forward to possibly being a human that is old or has been in an accident laying there on the bed knowing they could pull the plug and end it. On the other hand, I believe that if someone is facing the rest of their life with a terminal illness and they know they don't want to stick around for the last painful chapters of suffering that they should have the right not to. But legalizing euthenasia opens the door for so much abuse that I'd never want to see that. These are very difficult decisions. Why doesn't the husband just divorce her like any other man that doesn't want to be bothered with a wife, let the parents have her to take care of the way they want to and go on with his life with his " fiance " that he is living with and their two children? Why is he so dead set against letting his wife live? Could it be because she might get better and be able to tell what really happened to cause her brain injury? I don't know .But why is a husband so dead set against letting his legal wife's parents have custody of their own daughter and let them take care of her if that is what they want to do? Once people that have AIDS or Cancer are in the end stages of their lives and have to live on life support drugged up with so much morphine that they are no longer cognizatn, should we call them breathing corpses and stop life support? These are very difficult issues and as much as I absolutely cannot stand the Bush dynasty, for whatever motive, I'm glad Jeb Bush is taking this issue to the Supreme Court. They still have the Ten Commandments there. Perhaps they'll still remember:Thou Shalt not Kill and the Constitutional right to Life. If Terris is disallowed her feeding tube and allowed to die from stavation that will set the presidence for more euthanasia by denial of medical care. In the HMO environment where the poor have less rights to choose their health care and life saving medical care is rationed out, I just don't see the Terri case being a good thing if it looses in the US Supreme Court even if I hate to see Jeb Bush get credit for anything good. There have been cases when people wake up unexpectedly after years of a coma. Jeb, Supreme Court, Save Terri's Life The medical profession has said that she is brain-dead. There is no hope that she will return to life. Let the breathing corpse go. It is not euthanasia, but intelligence. Jeb, Supreme Court, Save Terri's Life Dear Jack, This may be an issue we don't agree on. Are you in favor of Terri's feeding tubes being removed and letting her die? Talk to Vicki Travis about euthnasia. I don't necessarily disagree with you about the political motivation of Jeb Bush because I don't like any of the Bush's but I don't think an Americans should have their constitutional right to life violated because they are disabled. If we started pulling the plug on Americans who cannot live without life support or medical assistance, where would that lead us? Vicki Travis can talk to you about her experiences with her Father. Nancy Valko is a nurse involved with life issues. Jeb, Supreme Court, Save Terri's Life Jeb Bush has interfered in the family relations of Schiavo family for purely political reasons, and has attempt to drag out the suffering of both Terri and Michael Schiavo is unconscienable. We need to get the Bushes out of everyone's lives and allow families to deal with the tragedies that take place without drooling politicians taking advantage of them for political gain. Bush should be in prison for election violations. He is a criminal already. He should have no standing in the court in the Schiavo case. Jeb, Supreme Court, Save Terri's Life On Friday, October 22, Governor Bush filed the following " Motion to Recall Mandate and Stay Issuance of Mandate Pending Appellant's Petition For Writ of Certiorari to the United States Supreme Court " . In his Motion, the Governor states that his counsel " received a copy of correspondence from counsel for Michael Schiavo which indicated that, the mandate from this Court having been issued, Mr. Schiavo intended to proceed as quickly as possible with efforts to remove Theresa Schiavo's feeding tube " . A copy of this correspondence is included in the motion. In short, the Governor is asking the Florida Supreme Court not to allow the removal of Terri's feeding tube until he is able to make his case with the Supreme Court of the United States, citing " no irreparable harm will accrue to Mr. Schiavo if the mandate is recalled and a stay issued " . It has been the opinion of many that the Governor was denied due process throughout Schiavo v. Bush and will be addressing those issues at the Supreme Court of the United States level.
