Guest guest
Dear Group, We get a lot of people who come and go from this group. Some of them are sick and some are on allopathic drugs. There is a ton of information here about alternatives and dangers about the drugs and we hope that most will get good information that may help them in their search. Most people want to be helpful to the other members so it only seems natural to " help " others who are haviing dificulties. The problem is though, some of the people are in precarious positions with their health and pharmacuetical use. Sometimes the person may have 2 distinct problems. One the original complaint and two the side effects of the chemical drug that they are using to treat the problem. This is especially true of all psychotropic mediciations. Most people cannot diferenciate one from another ( primary cause and secondary effects from the drugs or coming off them) or that it even exists. To give advise or imply to someone else to come off these medications or to take something while doing so is very dangerous and you better know exactly what you are talking about or you could be the cause of hurting someone very bad. Sometimes coming off drugs can be very difficult and if not done in the right way can cause severe reactions. Also you cannot put your faith and your health into the hands of another here. We are not doctors, we do not have access to each other to really know what the health situation is when it comes to another member. We can give suggestions for reading or may post an articles that may prove helpful, but it is dangerous to the other person and ourselves to take on the role of healthcare provider and advice giver for another person. In the case of psychotropic drugs each type is different but almost all have to be tapered off over a long period of time. The withdrawal causes a good many symptoms which you must be familiar with because the doctors are going to tell you that it is from the " underlying disease " and that proves that you " need " the " medicine " . Most doctors know how to put someone onto a mediciation, but don't have a clue what that medicine is really doing to them or what effects there might be when coming off it. Some people get into very difficult situations and wind up taking multiple drugs to cover up the previous one's problems. It is quite easy to get sucked into a pharma nightmare where the person is taking many different types of " medications " . Coming off one medication can be touchy but polypharmacy can be really difficult to do and must be done over a period of time. To give advice under these circumstances you better really know of what you are talking about. It is only a little piece of advice and easy to give but it can be the other person's life at stake. The only solution that we have come up with is that we have to research, study learn and in essence become our own doctors. I do not want to be my own doctor but I have no choice. I do not want the allopathic advice as that has been disasterous for me and those around me. I cannot find what I need in the medical marketplace so I am forced to become my own doctor or go without treatment. That is why I started this group. A place to share and store informations so that we can heal ourselves. It sounds scary to become our own doctors but it is far safer to do so than to turn your health over to someone else whether that person believes in allopathy or an alternative. Learn and get well, Frank
