OCTOBER 15, 2004. From WISN online, we get this boggling little news story:

 

'Just what we didn't need - the flu season has

arrived early in Wisconsin . The state division

of health says lab tests confirmed a Waupaca

County woman had the state's first influenza

case. She already has recovered. The flu season

typically starts in November or December in

Wisconsin ... so it's at least a couple weeks

early this time. State health officials say it's

impossible to predict the length or severity of

the flu season. U-S health officials, meanwhile,

are scrambling to find ways to make up for a

shortage of flu shots now that the nation's

supply of vaccine has been cut in halfŠ'

 

The rubes talking to the rubes.

 

The state division of health actually believes

they have found the FIRST case OF THE SEASON.

 

It's like blowing the horn for the beginning of deer-hunting season.

 

And the woman has already recovered. Wow, the

whole thing took place in the blink of an eye.

Sick, well. A groundhog-type thing.

 

Yesterday in Wisconsin, there was no flu. Nope.

But today there is. Yup. The gosh darn season is

underway.

 

You see, the flu bugs line up offshore, and when

the horn sounds, they come flying in.

 

This year, it was a couple of weeks early. Wow. I

guess that means it'll end a couple of weeks

early, so we can drive down to Aunt Martha's for

her birthday and not have to worry about all

those flu bugs smashing on our windshield.

IDEAL COVER STORY FOR FLU VACCINE BEING FLOATED

 

OCTOBER 14, 2004. You've seen the press reports.

Flu vaccine stolen from a doctor's office, now on

the black market. Some flu jabbers charging $80

to $100 dollars a shot. Outrageous. Criminal. The

CDC is running down these people. Will prosecute.

 

Well, I'm sure there is some truth to these

tales. That's what makes a great cover story.

 

What's behind it, though? The fact that

somewhere between 6 and 27 million contaminated

Chiron flu shots were shipped into the US BEFORE

the ban was put on Chiron.

 

Notice how THIS story is fading from press accounts.

 

A few days ago, Reuters reported that the CDC was

trying to track down pharmacies and doctors'

offices and clinics where the Chiron shots may

have been shipped from US distributors'

warehouses.

 

But now, that revelation is taking a back seat to

the more gut-level tales of people overcharging

for a jab.

 

I'm sure we'll be getting coverage of

" unscrupulous Doctor X " who offered patients a

flu shot for $90 and this mother couldn't afford

it so her son has to go without his vaccine and

the whole family is worried he'll get sick and

die because he gets very sick every fall from the

flu and the kid has a guitar he loves and he

wants to sell it to have the money for the shot

but his mother says he loves that guitar and he's

in a little rock band in kindergarten at school

and it's the only thing that gives him a sense of

self-worth and the kid's father left the family

in the lurch four years ago because he was

drinking and he said goodbye to his son one day

after he dropped him off at school and the son

hasn't seen him since and now a local businessman

has ponied up the $90 and the kid can get the

shot and the businessman is putting together a

group that's donating money for free shots but

there isn't enough vaccine available so the group

is flying in vaccine from Canada and they hope it

arrives in time but there is always a chance that

in transit the vaccine won't be frozen at the

right temperature and so it will be spoiled and

contaminated and no one is sure what to do and

the county medical association hopes it can

examine the vaccine and test it but it doesn't

have sophisticated equipment so they're appealing

to health officials at the state capitol where

they do have the equipment but there's so much

red tape and meanwhile there are pickets outside

Doctor X's office and he said he never said $90

and it was all a misunderstanding but now he

doesn't have any vaccine left and he has retained

a lawyer and he's suing Chiron because it's all

their fault and Chiron states it acted in good

faith...

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHIRON VACCINE IN 2003?

 

OCTOBER 14, 2004. Here is an excerpt from a WebMD

article dated December 11, 2003, written by

Daniel DeNoon. The headline was FLU WIDESPREAD

OVER NEARLY HALF OF US. The piece, from last

year, mainly pumped up hysteria about the 2003

flu season---which turned out to be relatively

light when all was said and done.

 

The most explosive paragraph, in retrospect, concerned Chiron:

 

" Meanwhile, U.S. Health and Human Services

Secretary Tommy Thompson announced today that the

government will buy the last remaining 100,000

doses of the adult vaccine from Aventis

Pharmaceuticals. It's also buying the last

150,000 doses of pediatric vaccine from that

manufacturer, although shipment of the pediatric

dosage won't happen until January. Thompson and

the FDA also are looking into buying -- and

licensing -- some 500,000 doses of a Chiron Corp.

flu vaccine approved in Europe but not the U.S. "

 

So the question is, did the FDA go ahead and buy

500,000 flu shots from Chiron (shots that had not

been approved as safe by the FDA), and did those

shots get into the arms of Americans?

 

If so, does the FDA have the lot numbers and can

it track what happened to the people who were

injected?

 

I have a strong feeling, based on experience,

that if I call the FDA, I will get the

run-around. However, reporters from major outlets

might have more luck, if they press it.

BUSH WISDOM ON THE FLU VACCINE

 

OCTOBER 14, 2004. Here is a brief excerpt from

last night night's presidential debate. It

involves the flu vaccine.

 

My comments are in brackets.

 

SCHIEFFER: New question, Mr. President, to you.

 

We are talking about protecting ourselves from

the unexpected, but the flu season is suddenly

upon us. Flu kills thousands of people every year.

 

Suddenly we find ourselves with a severe shortage

of flu vaccine. How did that happen?

 

BUSH: Bob, we relied upon a company out of

England to provide about half of the flu vaccines

for the United States citizen, and it turned out

that the vaccine they were producing was

contaminated. And so we took the right action and

didn't allow contaminated medicine into our

country. [THE COMPANY IS AMERICAN. CHIRON.

HEADQUARTERED IN CALIFORNIA. IT HAS A PLANT IN

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND.]

 

We're working with Canada to hopefully -- that

they'll produce a -- help us realize the vaccine

necessary to make sure our citizens have got flu

vaccinations during this upcoming season.

 

My call to our fellow Americans is if you're

healthy, if you're younger, don't get a flu shot

this year. Help us prioritize those who need to

get the flu shot, the elderly and the young. [The

ones who are most likely to have a severe adverse

effect from the vaccine.]

 

The CDC, responsible for health in the United

States, is setting those priorities and is

allocating the flu vaccine accordingly.

 

I haven't gotten a flu shot, and I don't intend

to because I want to make sure those who are most

vulnerable get treated. [ " Ain't gonna catch me

getting that shot. Remember when Tommy Thompson

said there was a vial of smallpox vaccine with

every American's name on it, and then I got my

shot, and later he said the vaccine was dangerous

and he was advising every member of cabinet not

to get it, and there I was with my ass hanging

out in the breeze? " ]

 

We have a problem with litigation in the United

States of America. Vaccine manufacturers are

worried about getting sued, and therefore they

have backed off from providing this kind of

vaccine. [spin, baby, spin. Obviously, you know

nothing about the federal program of compensation

for vaccine-injury victims. The program everybody

has to go through before they sue a vaccine

manufacturer, the program where it takes years

going up against gov lawyers to get a few dollars

through corridors of a Kafka-like hell.]

 

One of the reasons I'm such a strong believer in

legal reform is so that people aren't afraid of

producing a product that is necessary for the

health of our citizens and then end up getting

sued in a court of law. [Cronyism plus sheer

idiocy. If a drug company makes a product that

injures or kills somebody, there is no recourse

to sue?]

 

But the best thing we can do now, Bob, given the

circumstances with the company in England is for

those of us who are younger and healthy, don't

get a flu shot.

THE HYPNOTIC EFFECT OF NUMBERS

 

OCTOBER 13, 2004. These days, the CDC or the

World Health Organization can report a new

disease outbreak, and no matter how small the

actual case numbers are, if the media package is

wrapped in the proper tone of warning/hysteria

backed up with scientific giggle-gaggle,

everybody bows down and worries.

 

This is a major feat of PR.

 

The public has pretty much abandoned its own sense of what numbers mean.

 

Hell, most people have no idea how many people

live in the US, any other nation, or the world.

 

Let us take three situations. SARS, so-called avian flu, and West Nile Disease.

 

First of all, as I have covered in past articles,

there is no convincing proof that West Nile and

SARS have ever been isolated as distinct viruses.

So, right from the start, we're treading on very

thin ice.

 

Anyway, since SARS was named, WHO stats show that

8096 human cases have occurred, worldwide, and

there have been 774 deaths.

 

Since January 28, 2004, WHO reports 43 cases of

human avian flu, and 31 deaths. Globally.

 

The CDC states there are no reliable estimates

for West Nile Disease in humans, worldwide. In

the US, since 1999, there have been 9122 reported

cases of serious WN Disease, and 628 people have

died.

 

I could add various limiting qualifiers to these

stats (which would lower case numbers), but I'll

forego that here.

 

Think about the stats, and try to put them in some sort of context.

 

People die all the time. Millions, for example, die of starvation.

 

100,000 people in the US alone die from the

correct administration of FDA-approved medical

drugs every year.

 

It is certain, in the SARS, WN, and avian flu

situation, that some of the deaths have resulted

from a combination of prior illness plus toxic

medical drugs.

 

All in all, we are talking about a drop in the

bucket, when it comes to death and West Nile,

avian flu, and SARS.

 

Yet, people are looking over their shoulders for

a virus with teeth and claws. And when they get

sick, they accept whatever their doctors tell

them.

 

I bring all this up, because I think that the

recent John Keller revelations about VERY, VERY

FEW PEOPLE DYING FROM FLU IN THE US EVERY YEAR

are flying right into the radar of the public,

which reflects: " Any number of deaths is

frightening, no matter how few, as long as the

CDC or WHO claims it's a threat to us all. "

 

A million, 36,000, a thousand, seven hundred,

four. It doesn't matter. People don't make

distinctions.

 

What matters is the tone of the announcement and who is announcing it.

 

That, my friends, is called slavery, is called

fascism. And although it may not be immediately

apparent, the people who are wielding the spin

are ultimately after political power.

 

There is one more factor to add in. The word is

CONTAGION. The public has been conditioned up to

its eyeballs to view POSSIBLE contagion as a dire

threat, even when it doesn't pan out.

 

Even when, in the matter of so-called SARS in

Hong Kong, it was discovered that a quarter of

all the cases being reported centered on the Amoy

Apartments complex, where feces were leaking

through toilet pipes from apartment to apartment.

Fecal-borne illness doesn't need people with

samples under microscopes, doesn't need spinning

centrifuges, in a hunt for viruses. That doesn't

cure anyone. Plumbers cure people.

VERY FEW PEOPLE DIE FROM THE FLU

 

OCTOBER 13, 2004. Two days ago, I posted a long

piece which made a case for the fact that, in the

US, very few people die from the flu.

 

As of this morning, that piece is still on this

page. See last story on this scroll.

 

John Keller started the ball rolling with a

report that exposed the CDC's own death

stats---once pneumonia had been broken away from

the eternal CDC category called " pneumonia/flu. "

 

Keller found, online, the CDC's flu-death stats

for 2002 and 2001. Total for the two years?

Slightly more than 1000. Far, far, below the

tired old 36,000-per-year figure the CDC trots

out at the beginning of every so-called flu

season.

 

Two other readers of this site, John Cullison and

Martin Maloney, searched and confirmed Keller's

discovery. A third reader came on board with the

same results.

 

Make no mistake about it. This is an astounding

find. It undermines and undercuts the US

government's ceaseless pounding to " get a flu

shot. "

 

So far, no mainstream news outlet has picked up

on Keller's report. And, as far as I can tell,

very few alternative news outlets have, either.

 

Of course, if queried, the CDC will tell you that

its welded pneumonia/flu category is necessary

because, quite often, flu leads to pneumonia.

 

This is a generality, and as with most

generalities, it is passed from hand to mouth

without detailed investigation.

 

Such an investigation would, first of all,

confirm analyses of a great number of flu cases

in which flu viruses have actually been found in

patients (viruses, not antibodies to viruses) in

very, very large numbers. (Very, very large

numbers of flu viruses in each patient.)

 

Step two would consist of showing that in these

genuine flu cases, pneumonia often follows. THAT

would entail isolating pneumonia germs (not

antibodies) in very large numbers, in these

patients.

 

Why am I so insistent on the finding of large

numbers of germs in a given patient? Because that

is what you need to say that the germs are

contributing to illness. Just as it takes many

people to dig up a huge field with small shovels,

it takes many, many germs to contribute to

disease in a patient.

 

(Even then, the map is incomplete, because prior

to the " germ invasion, " something else has gone

wrong with the patient. His immune defense was

weakened, as a result of non-germ factors: poor

nutrition, unsanitary living conditions,

overcrowding, contaminated water, toxic medical

drugs, chemical insult, and so on.)

 

I would be quite willing to look at well-done

studies which show, in the manner I have

described, that pneumonia often follows flu. I

don't mean pilot studies with a few patients. I

mean studies that analyze several thousand

patients at a time. Show them to me.

 

Doctors or researchers who say, " Oh yes, I've

often seen flu lead to pneumonia, " or " Everyone

in the field knows that flu leads to pneumonia, "

are ruled out. That is hearsay and rumor.

 

Beyond the well-done studies I am asking for, it

would be necessary to confirm that flu

progressing into pneumonia often results in

death. Because that is what we are talking about.

Death stats.

 

At this point, I see absolutely no reason for the

CDC to lump flu with pneumonia in one category

and list deaths for both as one stat.

 

In which case, we fall back on Keller's discovery

that, by the CDC's own admission, buried deep in

its files, very few people die from the flu.

 

Which creates yet another reason to look with

amazement on all this fear-mongering surrounding

getting flu shots.

 

I'd venture to say that, in my brief appearance

on the Coast to Coast AM radio show Monday night,

only a small number of the 5-10 million listeners

registered my mention of Keller's revelation. It

was too startling. It came out of the blue. It

was against the grain of so much

government/medical propaganda.

 

In the same way, media outlets are hesitant, to

say the least, to pick up on this. It sounds

preposterous. " Well, if what you're saying is

true, then why is the government doing so much

to... " " How could this be? " " Why would the CDC

trumpet 36,000 deaths a year from the flu when

its own figures contradict that? "

 

I am personally immune to such wondering, because

for the last 20 years, as a reporter, I have run

into this type of situation over and over.

 

You would do well to read or re-read my long

piece at the bottom of this scroll.

 

It contains information that is a key to

understanding the situation behind the situation

we are now witnessing vis-a-vis Chiron and the

flu-vaccine scandal of 2004.

THE NEW FLU-VACCINE STRATEGY

 

OCTOBER 12, 2004. With the Chiron scandal playing

WE CAN'T GIVE YOU NO VACCINE in the background,

the CDC is mounting a " concerned and responsible "

campaign to get flu shots into the arms of the

" people most at risk. "

 

Babies (immune systems yet unformed); the elderly

(immunocompromised from a lifetime of medical

drugs and bad food and a belief that the future

is all downhill); people who have other illnesses

(drugged to the gills), and so on.

 

The thing is, these are the people most likely to

have severe effects from vaccines.

 

You know, heavy metals in the vaccines. Multiple germs.

 

Doing what is obvious to create or restore good

strong general health is the best protection

against the flu.

 

Of course, under the current brainwashing model,

these " at risk " people and their parents will be

cutting into long lines, throwing punches,

getting special favors from their

doctors---whatever it takes---to find that

vaccine.

 

Make something scarce, make people drool for it...the old game.

 

Watch it unfold, day by day, before your eyes.

CHIRON'S CANCER DRUG, PROLEUKIN

 

OCTOBER 12, 2004. Chiron manufactures a cancer

drug called Proleukin. At RXList, I checked the

adverse effects, but decided to stop at the

effect called death:

 

" The rate of drug-related deaths in the 255

metastatic RCC [Renal Cell Cancer] patients who

received single-agent PROLEUKIN® (aldesleukin)

was 4% (11/255); the rate of drug-related deaths

in the 270 metastatic melanoma patients who

received single-agent PROLEUKIN was 2% (6/270). "

 

Note well: this category is not " death due to

cancer, " it is related to Proleukin.

 

Now you may think a 4% or 2% death rate (not even

mentioning serious effects and life-threatening

effects) is low. That is up to you. I don't think

it's low.

 

I think that if an herb or vitamin were killing

cancer patients at those rates, the FDA would

move a division of troops and tanks and choppers

loaded with missiles into the area of the company

selling the supplement.

 

I think the story of the " deadly unapproved

treatment " would make front-page headlines for a

week or two, replete with the appropriate

clucking and outrage from " responsible physicians

and medical bureaucrats. "

 

But Chiron can proudly tout Proleukin on its website.

CHIRON UNDER INVESTIGATION

 

OCTOBER 12, 2004. The US Attorney's office in NY

has launched an investigation of Chiron for

failing to deliver flu vaccine to America.

 

No, no, no. The investigation should center not

only on the contaminated vaccine, but on all the

other Chiron crimes I have been detailing for the

past several days on this page.

Update 3: Chiron Investigated Over Flu Vaccine

A federal grand jury is investigating Chiron

Corp.'s failure to supply the nation with half

the needed flu vaccine this year, the company

said Tuesday in a regulatory filing.

 

The Emeryville-based company said it received a

subpoena from the U.S. Attorney in New York, the

same office that recently prosecuted Martha

Stewart and former star investment banker Frank

Quattrone in unrelated financial scandals.

 

The subpoena demanded documents and other

information related to British regulators

prohibiting Chiron from shipping about 48 million

Fluvirin vaccine shots from its Liverpool plant

because of contamination concerns, the company

said in a Securities and Exchange Commission

filing. Officials with Chiron and the U.S.

Attorney's office declined comment.

 

In its filing, the company said it would cooperate with the investigation.

 

Also Tuesday, Chiron said it was reducing its

expected 2004 earnings from $1.50 to $1.60 a

share to between 35 cents and 45 cents a share

because of the flu fiasco. Analysts had expected

the downward revision, estimating that the missed

flu season would cost Chiron about $300 million

in sales. Several investment firms had previously

downgraded Chiron's stock and questions remain

about whether the company will be able to fix its

production problems and restore its credibility

in time for next year's flu season.

 

In afternoon trading Tuesday, Chiron's share

price fell 31 cents to $33.84 on the Nasdaq Stock

Market. Chiron's stock has plunged more than 25

percent since Oct. 5, when British regulators

took their actions.

 

Chiron chief executive Howard Pien and U.S. Food

and Drug Administration officials have said the

British regulators actions were unexpected, even

though the Liverpool factory has had a history of

production problems.

 

In 2000, the company that owned the factory at

the time, Powderject Pharmaceuticals PLC,

recalled polio vaccines made there because of

contamination issues. As recently as August,

Chiron had announced four million Fluvirin shots

had been found to be contaminated with bacteria -

but had said the company would still ship most of

its vaccine in time for the flu season.

 

" Chiron did not at any time mislead public

health stakeholders or the public, " Pien said in

a written testimony submitted Friday to a

congressional committee looking into the matter.

" The results of Chiron's internal investigations

confirmed our belief that our product was safe. "

 

A congressional hearing on the vaccine shortage was held Friday.

 

Chiron purchased the Liverpool vaccine factory

when it acquired U.K.-based Powderject

Pharmaceuticals for $878 million in May 2003, two

months after Chiron appointed Pien chief

executive.

CHIRON AND THE VACCINE FOR MENINGITIS

 

OCTOBER 12, 2004. Reporter Jon Eisen, at Scoop

Media, runs down another Chiron tale. He has the

audacity to actually read the Chiron package

insert that goes along with the vaccine. Surely

he is breaking some law. It's not fair to examine

company literature too closely.

 

I confess I visited the Chiron website. And I

found this reassuring statement: " Every second,

25 people across more than 70 countries are

immunized with a Chiron vaccine. "

 

Also, beneath a very long list of Chiron

vaccines, I encountered a remark that was

puzzling. The FDA has not approved any of the

vaccines. They are not sold in the US. Call me

crazy, but I'd think Chiron would want to peddle

these shots in the richest nation in the world.

Zealand has admitted that " complete protection

against infection caused by the New Zealand

strain (of the bacteria) cannot be guaranteed. "

 

In the " package insert " designed to provide

guidelines for doctors and nurses administering

the vaccine, the CHIRON company also states that

the vaccine has a high rate of possible side

effects.

 

Moreover, it says that much crucial data about

the performance of the vaccine, as well as data

on " contraindications " (where it should not be

used) are incomplete.

 

Specifically:

* While the insert says that " the population at

risk should be vaccinated with MeNZB [company

name for the vaccine] to prevent serious systemic

disease " it concedes that " data on concomitant

use of other vaccines are not yet available. "

This means that if a person gets one or more

other vaccines at or around the same time as the

MeNZB vaccine, there are no data on possible

adverse outcomes.

 

* The vaccine also " has not been evaluated in

persons with thrombocytopenia (low blood platelet

count) or bleeding disorders. "

 

* " As with all injectable vaccines, appropriate

medical treatment and supervision should always

be readily available in the rare case of an

anaphylactic event (life threatening allergic

reaction) following administration of a vaccine. "

The company neglects to provide any data on these kinds of events.

 

* " MeNZB has not been specifically evaluated in

the immunocompromised. Individuals with

complement deficiencies and individuals with

functional or anatomical asplenia (problems with

or absence of a spleen) may mount an immune

response to MeNZB; however, the degree of

protection that would be afforded is unknown. "

in this world have compromised immune

brick building called Incarnation Children's

Center (ICC). This former convent houses a

revolving stable of children who've been removed

from their own homes by the Agency for Child

Services. These children are black, Hispanic and

poor. Many of their mothers had a history of drug

abuse and have died. Once taken into ICC, the

children become subjects of drug trials sponsored

by NIAID (National Institute of Allergies and

Infectious Disease, a division of the NIH), NICHD

(the National Institute of Child Health and Human

Development) in conjunction with some of the

world's largest pharmaceutical companies -

GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Genentech,

Chiron/Biocine and others.

 

The drugs being given to the children are toxic

- they're known to cause genetic mutation, organ

failure, bone marrow death, bodily deformations,

brain damage and fatal skin disorders. If the

children refuse the drugs, they're held down and

have them force fed. If the children continue to

resist, they're taken to Columbia Presbyterian

hospital where a surgeon puts a plastic tube

through their abdominal wall into their stomachs.

From then on, the drugs are injected directly

into their intestines.

2002. The second search result for J10 (the mortality code for flu)

 

brings us to page 16 of 48, which contains the breakout of flu and

 

pneumonia. Total flu deaths for 2002: 753. Pneumonia accounted for the

 

other 65,231 deaths. Scrolling to the right are the numbers for 2001.

 

Again, total flu deaths were under one thousand, coming in at 257.

 

That's right, less than a thousand people died of the flu in 2001 and

 

2002, according to the CDC's own numbers.

OCTOBER 11, 2004. Researcher Patricia Doyle has

uncovered a very disturbing paragraph at the end

of a Reuters article dated October 6:

 

" The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

[CDC] was working to find out where vaccines had

already been shipped to providers such as

clinics, drug stores and employers. "

 

The paragraph is, of course, about the

explosively widening Chiron flu vaccine scandal.

 

In previous stories, I've discussed the fact

that this vaccine, just banned as UNSAFE and

CONTAMINATED, was already shipped, in huge

quantities, from England to the US, where it has

been sitting in distributors' warehouses.

 

I warned that there was a very good chance

vaccine had already been shipped out the doors.

 

The CDC KNOWS THIS IS TRUE. Because the hunt is

on. Clinics, drug stores, employers.

 

The vials of vaccine have escaped quarantine.

 

US health authorities are downplaying the

situation. They claim, without a flutter of an

eyelid, that it is standard practice for vaccine

makers to ship doses for sale and distribution

BEFORE THESE MANUFACTURERS DO THEIR FINAL SAFETY

TESTS.

 

As of this morning, Oct. 11, no major media

outlet I can find has sounded an alarm.

 

Why not? I'll tell you. Because the CDC has not told them to.

 

It is the CDC that is holding back. You know: " We must avoid panic. "

 

You can be SURE that, if the CDC and its parent,

the US Dept. of Health and Human Services, an

agency of the executive branch of the US federal

government, had issued press releases, the major

media would be all over this.

 

So it is those agencies of the government that are CULPABLE.

 

How many people in the US have already received

contaminated flu shots manufactured by Chiron?

Now start putting all this together. If the CDC

has been lying for years about the real numbers

of deaths from the flu in the US---if the true

numbers are much, much lower than advertised

broadly, then why all the fear-mongering about

the dangers of the flu?

 

They want to sell vaccine.

 

They want to sell vaccine.

 

So what does it appear they have ended up with?

Very few actual deaths from the flu. And a

contaminated and very dangerous vaccine which is

being sold out the doors in the US...a wildcat

vaccine...and no accountability.

 

Add to this the hysterical propaganda about the

possible arrival of The Big One, a global flu

pandemic, based on no evidence at all, and you

have a monumental crime in progress, right before

your eyes.

 

Yesterday, on C-SPAN, I watched a few minutes of

a brief Congressional hearing on the " flu-vaccine

shortage " in the US. The drug-company reps

basically said that the only way to guarantee the

vaccine makers a good season every season for

selling flu vaccine is to UP THE DEMAND. And that

means young children, who are still " not getting

the shots in great enough numbers. "

 

It's nothing less than a RICO crime.

The first confirmation on the Keller report has

come in, from John Cullison. He has checked part

of Keller's work and finds identical low, low

numbers on actual flu deaths. He offers the

following path to take, using the CDC link Keller

offered (above). As I suspected---since I am

basically a writer with a typewriter who woke up

one day with a computer---the technical details

of the search are way over my head:

Go to page 31. That page is printed in landscape mode, so that the table

can fit the page. There, sixth line from the bottom, is the " Influenza and

pneumonia (J10-J18) " listing, and below that are sub-listings for " Influenza

(J10-J11) " and " Pneumonia (J12-J18) " . Sure enough, under the first column

of data, " All Ages " , the influenza line shows a whopping 257, while the

pneumonia line shows 61,777, for a total of 62,034. Almost 2/3 of the

influenza deaths were of people over 74 years old.

 

Go to page 35. The table layout is either identical or very similar, but it

lists death rates per 100,000. As you can infer from the fifth line from

the bottom of the table, death from influenza is a one-in-a-million event.

 

Following those pages are breakouts for various races, various age groups

(i.e. infant-related), etc. On page 104, you can find the following data:

 

" The large decrease in Influenza (ICD-10 codes J10-J11) deaths from 2000 to

2001 is largely due to a change in the coding rules, which resulted in

deaths that would have previously been assigned to Influenza, instead were

assigned to Pneumonia in 2001. "

 

Of course, what exactly this means is not stated. Was the CDC misreporting

pneumonia deaths as flu deaths previously, thereby generating excess alarm

about the relative danger of influenza?

original report, which I excerpted above this

discusses various types of pneumonia.

Keller points out that, on this page, there is no

discussion of the FLU as a precursor to

pneumonia. I have checked this page, and Keller

is right. This is important, because the CDC

could try to defend itself for lumping together

pneumonia and flu in death stats by saying,

" Well, as we all know, the flu brings on

pneumonia, and whether a person dies from flu or

flu/pneumonia, the basic cause (flu) could be the

same in many, many cases. " There is no

conventional basis for this assumption, and

therefore the CDC has no leg to stand on for this

deceptive lumping of death stats under the

category " flu/pneumonia. " As you can see from

reading this far in today's post, it is exactly

that lumping together that makes the flu seem

rather dangerous.

UPDATE---BACKGROUNDER---OCTOBER 11, 2004, 2:40PM, Pacific Time.

 

BOSTON (CBS.MW) -- British regulators' sudden

move to shut down Chiron's flu shot manufacturing

operations sent the company's shares tumbling,

while fanning fears the United States could be

vulnerable to an influenza epidemic.

 

Chiron (CHIR: news, chart, profile) rocked

investors Tuesday when the company said it will

not be able to release any of its Fluvirin

vaccine because the British government has

suspended the manufacturing license at its

Liverpool plant for at least three months.

 

The plant is Chiron's only flu-shot

manufacturing facility. The suspension only

prohibits Chiron from making Fluvirin at

Liverpool, and does not affect the production of

other products there, the company said.

 

In addition, the British government also is

preventing manufactured doses of the vaccine to

be shipped to the United States.

 

Shares of the vaccine developer closed down

16.38 percent to $37.98 Tuesday. Chiron had

halted trading of its shares until about 12.15

p.m. Eastern and was down by more than a third at

one point after trading resumed.

 

Chiron is one of only two major suppliers of

seasonal flu vaccine to the U.S. market. The

Emeryville, Calif.-based biotechnology firm

planned to supply 46 million to 48 million doses

of the vaccine for the 2004-05 flu season, which

begins in October. The other major supplier,

Sanofi-Aventis (SNY: news, chart, profile), is

reportedly on track to supply 50 million doses.

 

Chiron's flu vaccine is only approved for use in

adults. Pediatric flu shots are supplied by

Aventis, according to the U.S. Health and Human

Services Department.

 

" We profoundly regret we will be unable to meet

public health needs, " said Chiron Chief Executive

Howard Pien in a conference call with investors

midday Tuesday.

 

" The suspension ... has the practical effect of

wiping out our ability to supply, " he added.

 

According to Chiron management, the Medicines and

Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, or MHRA,

Britain's equivalent to the U.S. Food and Drug

Administration, yanked the company's license to

manufacture the vaccine at its Liverpool plant at

midnight Eastern time Tuesday, citing concerns

about the process.

 

Chiron already had announced it was delaying

shipments of the vaccine after discovering some

batches of the vaccine made at the plant had been

contaminated.

 

The company is also a major supplier of the flu

vaccine to the British government.

 

The MHRA's move came just as Chiron was doing

final testing on this season's supply. According

to Chiron, practically all of the 48 million

doses slated for the United States had already

been manufactured when the MHRA pulled the plug.

 

Pien said that the move was " unexpected, "

maintaining that the flu shots had passed

internal corporate inspection without a problem

last week, an inspection process that the FDA

appeared to be " fairly comfortable with. "

 

" As of last week, we expected to be on track to

have delivery of Fluvirin by early October, " Pien

elaborated on the U.S. shipments. " You should now

assume that the entirety of the 2004-05 flu

season is gone. "

 

The executive said that the existing supply of

flu shots at the Liverpool plant will be

destroyed unless MHRA changes its decision in the

next few days. He added that Chiron will begin

discussions with that agency Wednesday.

 

Because it takes more than five months to

manufacture the vaccine, Pien indicated that

there is no way the company can manufacture more

of the shots to meet its U.S. obligations.

 

Chiron also issued new 2004 financial estimates.

The company said that due to the loss of its

primary product for the year, Chiron now expects

to post net earnings of between 35 cents and 45

cents per share for 2004. The company previously

forecast earnings of $1.50 to $1.60 a share for

the year.

 

Chiron is one of the world's leading

manufacturers of flu vaccines. The company is a

major supplier of flu shots to the United States,

as well as Germany, Ireland, Italy and the United

Kingdom.

 

It said in August it was delaying U.S. shipments

for several weeks after it was discovered that a

small number of batches made at its Liverpool

plant had been contaminated due to human error.

Chiron executives testified before Congress last

week that they anticipated no further delays in

the shipments.

 

Sanofi-Aventis is the other major flu vaccine

supplier to the United States. The company said

Monday that it had already shipped 30 million

doses ahead of schedule to U.S. distributors. See

related story.

 

Niche biotechnology concern MedImmune (MEDI:

news, chart, profile) also makes a spray-mist

version of the vaccine, called FluMist. But that

product has not been approved for use in children

under age 5 and adults over 50, who combined make

up the vast bulk of flu shot recipients.

 

MedImmune's chief executive told CBS MarketWatch

in early September that his company had no plans

to ramp up additional production of FluMist to

fill any market void created by Chiron's delays.

MedImmune had planned to only make about 2

million doses of FluMist for the 2004-05 flu

season.

 

U.S.-traded shares of Sanofi-Aventis rose 0.98

percent to $37.14. Its Aventis (AVE: news, chart,

profile) subsidiary, of which 5 percent of its

shares are publicly traded, was up 1.39 percent

to $86. MedImmune jumped 5.79 percent to $25.78.

 

During a second press conference Tuesday, Chiron

executives also emphasized that the company is

still seeking to be a major vaccine supplier for

the 2005-06 season. The company said that it is

working diligently with U.S. and foreign

regulators to help work out any outstanding

issues to be able to begin the lengthy

manufacturing process next spring.

 

" What we're worried about is our ability to live

up to the public trust... as a reliable supplier

of the vaccine, " lamented Pien.

 

He added that the company is also on track with a

previously planned $100 million capital

investment in its vaccine-making operations,

which include construction and upgrades.

Since that piece appeared, the CDC has admitted

(though the admission has not received wide press

attention) that perhaps 6 million doses of the

vaccine had already been shipped into the US,

before the ban was laid on. Perhaps more.

 

Chiron's flu vaccine is contaminated with the serratia bacteria.

 

The doses already in the US are outside the

regulatory arm of the FDA and outside the control

of Chiron. Therefore, as demand increases for the

vaccine and the public becomes predictably

hysterical (announce a shortage, make people

drool for your product), these stocks of vaccine,

sitting in US distributors' warehouses, are

almost certainly going out the door into the

black market. Who knows how much is being sold in

the US and other countries.

 

To make things worse, about a million doses were

UPDATE, OCTOBER 11, 4:50pm, PACIFIC TIME. Another backgrounder on flu vaccine.

 

Boom. It turns out that a great deal of the flu

vaccine made by Chiron in England---the vaccine

just declared contaminated and unfit for use and

dangerous---IS ALREADY IN THE US. It was shipped

here prior to the ban.

 

It's sitting in US distributor warehouses,

" outside the direct control of the company or US

[FDA] regulators, " according to SFGate.com, the

San Francisco Chronicle's online outlet.

 

So which flu vaccine are people in the US going

to be getting this fall and winter??

 

The vials of Chiron vaccine in the US are under

the quarantine imposed by the company after it

learned that all 48 million of its 2004

flu-vaccine doses were banned by British

regulatorsŠbut that quarantine does not mean the

vials will just sit there in US warehouses. Oh

no. It means that eager greedheads can start

putting it on the market. Because the selling

price will skyrocket in a very heavy demand

situation.

 

Chiron vaccine could be going out the door as we speak.

 

It's open season on people who want flu vaccine.

 

And as you'll see in the SFGate article excerpted

below, there is a curious word being used to

describe FDA action on these US-warehoused flu

vaccine doses: the word is RELEASED. Huh?

RELEASED? No explanation is spelled out.

 

Here 's the excerpt:

 

The Chronicle has learned that vaccine shipped

across the Atlantic has been sitting since August

in the warehouses of American drug distributors,

under a Chiron-imposed " quarantine,'' but outside

the direct control of the company or U.S.

regulators.

 

Now, Chiron's entire production of at least 48

million doses of flu vaccine has been rendered

useless after British regulators abruptly

suspended the license of the Emeryville-based

company's Liverpool factory Tuesday, cutting the

U.S. supply of flu shots in half.

 

In this case, Chiron employed the little-known

quarantine process under which drugmakers can

ship products to distributors before final safety

tests are completed.

 

Norman Baylor, deputy director for the FDA's

vaccine unit, said it was not unusual for

manufacturers to ship vaccine under quarantine.

The quarantine is lifted by the manufacturer when

the company's final tests confirm that the

product is safe and the distributor is free to

sell it.

 

" I think the system works,'' Baylor said in an

interview in September shortly after Chiron's

contamination problem first surfaced. " The system

did what it was supposed to do.''

 

Baylor also confirmed that 27 bulk lots --

nearly half of the 60 produced by the Chiron

plant -- had been " released " by the FDA prior to

the company's discovery that some finished

product was contaminated. The actual number of

doses that can be produced from each lot varies.

 

Although the federal agency does not conduct

tests on the final product, companies are liable

for the safety of their medicines and have

powerful incentive to test them thoroughly before

releasing them from quarantine, Baylor explained.

 

Chiron shipped its first million doses of

vaccine to distributors in late July, trumpeting

its first-to-market achievement in a July 23

press release. At that time, the company

explained that " in the coming days, " it would

" complete its internal release procedures,

allowing distributors to begin shipping vaccines

to customers.''

 

Any optimism at Chiron evaporated with Tuesday's

ruling. " We consider the Fluvirin season to be

over, for all intents and purposes,'' Chiron

spokesman John Gallagher said Wednesday.

 

He also confirmed that the initial crisis had

been triggered when tests detected serratia

bacteria in a small number of lots. Serratia

bacteria are often implicated in episodes of

hospital-acquired infection and can be deadly in

the bloodstream.

 

The company has yet to reveal when it discovered

the contaminated lots, but having found a

problem, Chiron never lifted its quarantine.

Although no Chiron vaccine was shipped to

clinics, some drug industry experts acknowledge

that its presence at multiple U.S. distributor

warehouses poses a potential security problem.

 

" Because of the shortage, the spot market for

flu vaccines is going to go through the roof,''

said David Webster, a health care consultant in

Lehigh Valley, Penn. " Any time there is an

extremely valuable commodity, the potential

exists that it will work its way on to the black

market. It is a legitimate cause for concern.''

UPDATE: OCTOBER 11, 2004, 9:20PM. PACIFIC TIME. I

have had several people contact me who are trying

to justify the CDC reporting system on flu and

pneumonia. They basically claim that, since the

flu " so often leads to pneumonia, " especially the

oh so deadly viral type of pneumonia (they stress

this), it makes sense for the CDC to lump flu and

pneumonia deaths together. I offer this tidbit

from WebMD about viral penumonia:

 

" Viral pneumonia is pneumonia caused by a virus.

About half of all people with pneumonia have

viral pneumonia. Viral pneumonia is usually less

serious than bacterial pneumonia and can take

from 2 to 4 weeks to recover

 

" Viral pneumonia is usually less serious [than

bacterial pneumonia].. A stay in the hospital is

rarely needed. "

 

Yes, I realize that the elderly, already drugged

to the eyeballs, and suffering from multiple

problems, can die of almost anything added to

their already heavy burden, but this does NOT

justify concluding that they are dying from the

flu progressing into viral pneumonia on some

seamless course in a vacuum.

 

So far I have found no authoritative death stats

in the US from viral pneumonia, where the virus

has definitely been IDed (NOT eyeballed)and where

the titer of that virus has been determined to be

high.

 

I'm sticking to my story. The CDC is fronting for a lie.

NOORY SHOW: AFTERMATH

 

OCTOBER 12, 2004. Lots of emails. Mentioned: the

Chiron flu vaccine still contains mercury. Hello?

US health authorities have been " insisting " that

it's time to eliminate the neurotoxin mercury

from vaccines, but apparently this is taking a

lot longer than imagined.

 

I can't get too upset that a lot of people won't

be getting their yearly dose of injected mercury.

 

If you have spare time, try to find a study

published in a respected medical journal that

adds up all the mercury that people, including

babies, will get from their vaccinations, over a

five or six year period---a study that then goes

on to assess the effect of that total toxic load.

A study that doesn't hedge or lie. Good luck.

 

It's obvious from some emails that there are

people out there who still don't understand the

difference between burying key data way down

inside long and tedious reports and trumpeting

that data as front-page news.

 

Out front, the CDC comes on like Halloween

goblins re the terrible dangers of the dreaded

flu ( " get your vaccine! get your vaccine! " ); but

way, way, way down in the small print, they admit

the death rate from flu ranks on the same level

as cars with wings killing their passengers by

levitating off suspension bridges and floating

down into fast-moving rivers.

 

Some listeners to last night's show didn't digest

what I said about the true CDC stats on deaths

from flu. I suggest those people read my long

post from yesterday.

 

In a sane world, this horrible scam to sell

vaccine and keep people in fear would be exposed

in the major media in a second.
