Guest guest
JoAnn? I have a brain tumor how do I get this avocado extract?? In fact, an interesting botanical extract from the avocado plant (Persea americana) is showing promise as a new cancer adjunct. When a purified avocado extract called mannoheptulose was added to a number of tumor cell lines tested in vitro by researchers in the Department of Biochemistry at Oxford University in Britain, they found it inhibited tumor cell glucose uptake by 25 to 75 percent, and it inhibited the enzyme glucokinase responsible for glycolysis. It also inhibited the growth rate of the cultured tumor cell lines.
Guest guest
--- Hi Peggy! Avocado Extract is commonly used in cosmetic preparations although the supplemental form of avocado extract ( mannoheptulose) has just recently received more media attention. It has been used since 1917. It is very similar to 'mannose'... the sugar alcohol used in some diet/low carb foods and inhibits the entry of glucose into cells. There are conflicting opinions regarding the long term health benefits of this. I don't care to comment on that at this time, although I've heard that there are some other adverse effects involved. I would not undertake this type of therapy myself. I think it would not be practical due to the cost (thousands for just a few pills from Life Extension and other sites). I'm certainly not saying it isn't effective I'm just saying I believe there are better ways to accomplish your goals. Were you aware that this component is also found in avocado fruits?? You may benefit from eating the fruits as well. Essiac tea is one of the most effective alternative remedies for brain tumors. I trust the research behind the herbal blend Floressence(www.florainc.com) It is an old Indian cancer remedy, the knowledge passed down from generation to generation. Dandelion root, Coq10 ( 300+ mgs daily), reishi/maitake mushroom, Laetrile and red clover ALL inhibit angiogenesis. Including the addition of more essential fatty acids (www.udoerasmus.com), organically grown vegetables, more fatty cold water fish (alaskan salmon, etc),eliminating all Dairy, with no red meats or processed food with additives, no simple sugars or carbs, limiting fats and oils to expeller pressed organically derived varieties (i.e. extra virgin olive, rice bran oil and sesame oil) no transfatty acids or refined hydrogenated oils or margarines, no refined simple sugars or carbs and more cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, artichokes) should achieve the same effect. You need to build up your immune reserves and this course of action will help you with that. Also if you could eliminate or limit your natural fruit juice/fruit intake until your tumor starts shrinking. Mushrooms, even plain or gourmet mushrooms tend to build up your immune defenses. It is also essential that no aspartame in any form be consumed at this time. Nutrasweet/aspartame (large amounts) have been discovered in brain tumors. If you wish you may email me directly.
