Any ideas?

My diet is already very good, I also take calcium and magnesium and

fish oil capsules (4 per day of a superior brand and quality). I've

tried St. John's Wort and homeopathic melatonin. (Real melatonin is

not sold in the country where I live though I just heard it may be

possible to get it by prescription).

It is anxiety related. I have had it on and off for years but am

having an especially bad bout lately. I'm having to take

antihistamines otherwise I would not be able to function at all but

I hate the way they totally drug me. I've tried cutting down the

dose to 1/2 a tablet but I stopped sleeping. It is causing digestive

problems as well. Arrgh!

5Htp and L-Tryptophan are not available over the counter here. I am

still looking into whether I can get them by prescription. It may be

possible.

The antihistamines drug me so much I have no real energy to exercise

much so that only exacerbates the problem but exercise didn't seem

to fix the problem in the first place.

I don't have any other health problems to speak of which might

contribute to this and don't take any other drugs. I am eating no

sugar and taking no caffeine of any kind.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Holly,

Dr. Mercola's site has lots of good tips on getting to sleep.

Please read:

Are the antihistamines for allergies or are you using them for sleep?

For allergies you can use multiple gram doses of ascorbic acid. Ascorbic

acid is anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine.
