Guest guest
I was in a minonite store and they had a lot of herb stuff and they had a bottle of herb mix with the following in it. " Cider Vineger, Apple Juice, Grape Juice, Star Anise, Black Cohosh, Black Walnut, Echinacea, Chamomile, Chickweed, Cinnamon, Clove Ginger, Ginseng, Goldenseal, Licorice, Fenugreek, & Valerian. " Now I know what 99% of this does for me. however my question is is this mix a good mix for the body and does it have good over all benefits. I don't know if the ingredients are organic or not but I believe they may be considering what is on the bottle. The insturections say to take one ounce a day. it don't taste too bad. If it has a good benefit I would like to keep it up it is not too costly it was pritty cheep. I would appreacheate any feedback. Thanks Poneyboy

Poneyboy Hi " Poneyboy " , The traditional Mennonite typically uses more natural methods which do not involve the use of residues, hormones or Antibiotics in their crops. I believe that they are quite similar to the Amish in this respect and I have come to know and trust the Amish label, be it on their chicken or whatever. When they say their products are hormone, antibiotic free, it usually is! Although their products do not bear the 'organic' label, in my opinion, we can thoroughly trust their methods. I would like to note as well that this is just one more reason that we need to make use of these healing herbs. The majority of herbs are still in the `tamper-free' zone. As of yet, they have not attempted to genetically `modify' the majority of them. To my knowledge the only ones that are currently " altered " are *flaxseeds* and *soybeans*, so it really isn't necessary to obtain herbs as `organics' yet. That day may come though, we never really know! Many of the herbs that are so commonly used have much longer root systems, making them more pure and free from exposure to excessive groundwater toxins. This makes them much safer to use. I believe the herbs which are grown in Europe, the teas for example are higher quality than those which are grown in the U.S. They have much higher specifications in Switerzerland (for example) than in this country. Their exposure to 'dioxins' and other contamination is lower as well, which makes they more safe and effective over the long term. My favorite company AIM has moved their production to New Zealand because they felt that their source of barley in North American was not as pristine as originally thought. This is becoming more and more common as people realize just how contaminated our soils and waters are. The alfalfa plant a root system that burrows into the ground 15 to 25 ft or more. This is why alfalfa is so rich in the vitamins and minerals that are lacking in our more traditional foods, more so than any other vegetables and fruits even the " organic " ones. This is even more reason that we should make more use of our healing herbs because they are typically free and safe from many existing residues which our traditional foods are exposed to. Guest guest
Thanks JoAnn for this very informative list. I told my wife also. It looks like she will benefit from it also. Although we got it in a Mennonite store the bottle says Amish made on it. I also get my black strap molasses from there which is made in the community up there. I take a little of it each day. They have a lot of products up there that I have wondered about if they were organic but since u brought out that point about the Amish and Mennonite using all natural and not adding anything I will trust it more. again thanks for posting all this info. by the way when I started a change a life 1.5 years ago when I first found this list and decided to clean up my life and start using herbs and eating better (before I thought herbs were only for the weird and I was only into meds) I weighed 262lbs, now I weigh 195lbs and I'm still slowly losing a little at a time and keeping it off. so changing ur life speaks volumes here.
